Kunshan is the hometown of ancient Chinese bricks and tiles, and Jinxi is the hometown of ancient Kunshan bricks and tiles. As early as the Western Jin Dynasty, Jinxi had a tradition of making bricks and firing kilns. At the beginning of 1980, Kunshan Dadong brick and tile factory built an exhibition hall of ancient bricks and tiles, with a collection of more than 800 exhibits, which attracted the attention of experts and scholars at home and abroad. In 1996, the museum was relocated and expanded to enrich its exhibits. It is the only brick and tile Museum in China. Now walking into the new site of dingzhai, the museum displays more than 1000 pieces of brick and tile treasures with artistic charm and historical value, just like reading a vast history of 5000 years in China. There are many kinds of bricks, such as the "red burnt earth" on the walls of the "half cave" houses in the Neolithic period, the brick ornaments of the "Wangyi Palace" in the imperial palace of the first emperor of Qin Dynasty, the city bricks of the Han Dynasty, the tiles of the six dynasties, the dating bricks of the Western Jin Dynasty, the mortise and tenon well bricks of the Song Dynasty, the blue bricks of the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the Republic of China, and even the red bricks marked by five stars. The thin tiles under the tiles, the palm sized flower window tiles, and the gold bricks soaked in tung oil after being burned for a hundred days. A collection of Chinese bricks and tiles. Many decorative figures are engraved on the numerous bricks and tiles, such as the double dragon grabbing the Pearl, the Phoenix wearing the peony, the carp jumping over the dragon's gate and so on. Some are engraved with stories of various characters, and some are engraved with auspicious characters such as "fortune, fortune and longevity". Each exhibit is shining with wisdom and artistic brilliance.
