Origin of former residence
Qiu Jin's former residence at the south foot of Tashan mountain in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province
"Don't say that your daughter is not a British thing, and the dragon spring is singing on the wall at night.". Qiujin's former residence is located at No.18 hechangtang, the south foot of Tashan mountain in Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province. It is close to the lush Tashan mountain in the north, and not far from Jianhu Lake. It has a quaint and quiet environment, which is full of the heroic ambition of a generation of heroines.
Qiu Jin, named Jingxiong, was a female revolutionist in the late Qing Dynasty. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, Qiu Jin's former residence was renovated several times and listed as a key cultural relic protection unit of the province. On January 13, 1988, the State Council approved its inclusion in the list of the third batch of national key cultural relics protection units. Qiu Jin's former residence was originally a part of Zhu Geng's villa.
Main structure
The plaque of "Qiujin's former residence" inscribed by He Xiangning, an old man of the 1911 Revolution, is hung on the front door of his former residence. It is full of strength and affection. Entering the former residence is a small patio paved with stone slabs.
Across the patio are three bungalows facing south and a small building. In the hall, there is a plaque of "hechangtang". The tone of writing is clear and precipitous, and the handwriting is straight and straight, showing the extraordinary character of the host. The West first room is decorated with round tables, square chairs and other simple furniture. It was here that Qiu Jin read her poems in her youth, especially Du Fulin's and Xin Qiji's poems about patriotism and concern for the people, which often made her meditate and feel uneasy.
After returning to China in 1905, it was the place where she discussed revolutionary plans with her comrades in arms, such as Xu Xilin and Tao Chengzhang. The first one in Dongshou is a dining room. On the wall is a couplet presented by Wu Zhiying, Qiu Jin's best friend: "heroes are persistent, and scholars are diligent.". The ear room adjacent to the dining room is Qiu Jin's bedroom, in which the ancient carved wooden bed and desk are the original objects used by the martyrs. On the desk are the four treasures of the study that Qiu Jin used in those years, the ink she left a few days before her sacrifice, and the ivory seals engraved with "Jianhu female Xia" and "Qiu Guijin seal".
Experience
Qiu Jin is not only a great female revolutionist, but also a famous poetess.
Many of her poems denouncing the feudal rule of Qing Dynasty and full of patriotic passion were written on this desk. What is particularly striking is the picture of Qiu Jin's men's clothes hanging on the wall, which is full of heroism and charm.
Qiujin bedroom back wall also has a long and narrow wall chamber, where there were hidden guns and ammunition and revolutionary documents. It is said that after the failure of the Anqing uprising, Xu Xilin was in a very critical situation. Someone once advised Qiu Jin to stay away for a while, but she refused and insisted on fighting until she was unfortunately arrested. Guifu, the magistrate at that time, sent people to check it many times, but the secret room was never found.
Passing through the hall and the Ming hall with flowers and trees, there are three bungalows in front, which have been turned into the exhibition room of Qiu Jin's cultural relics. The first room introduces the background of Qiu Jin's birth and the situation of her youth. The second room displays Qiu Jin's poems, manuscripts, letters, photos and articles used during her stay in Japan. The third room reflects Qiu Jin's achievements in revolutionary activities after she returned home.
Great significance
The fourth entrance is also three bungalows, displaying the memorial of Qiu Jin after her death. Among them are the inscriptions of Premier Zhou, Sun Yat Sen, Song Qingling, Wu Yuzhang, Guo Moruo and ZHOU Jianren. These ink marks give Qiu Jin high praise. "In such a dangerous situation, he dares to cherish his body and is willing to sacrifice his life" (Qiu Jin's poem). The heroic deeds of Chengren will always be respected by the future generations.
