Dabaoji palace is located in Baisha street, 8 kilometers north of Lijiang City. The Liuli hall, located from west to East, was built in 1417, the 15th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty. Dabaoji Palace
Dabaoji palace is located in Baisha ancient town, 8 kilometers north of Lijiang City. It was built in 1582 in the 10th year of Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. It is a double eaves mountain top with two wide faces and a square shape.
Many of the murals were painted from the early Ming Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty, which lasted for more than 300 years. Baisha mural is a unique cultural relic, which integrates the Han, Tibetan and Naxi cultures, embraces all kinds of religious cultures and art schools.
Development history
Dabaoji palace was built to the East in the 10th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1582).
The 12 murals preserved in the palace are the largest and well preserved part of the existing murals in Lijiang.
The total area is 61.48 square meters, of which the largest one is 3.67 meters high and 4.98 meters wide. The Tathagata Buddha sits in the middle with its body in red and gold. The 18 statues above are painted with four heavenly kings on both sides.
The murals are a combination of figures of Buddhism, Taoism and Lama. They are precise and exquisite in writing and smooth in lines. They integrate the traditional techniques of Han, Tibetan, Naxi and Bai nationalities. They are valuable materials for the study of national history and art history.
It was announced as a national key cultural relic protection unit in 1996. It is a precious material for the study of national history and art history.
