Pigeon Nest Park, also known as Yingjiao Park, is located in the northeast corner of Beidaihe seashore. It is one of the four major scenic spots of Beidaihe scenic spot in Qinhuangdao city.
Pigeon Nest Park is located at the easternmost end of Beidaihe, which is also the best place to watch the sunrise. When watching the sunrise in the pigeon nest, you can often see the wonder of "bath day": when the red sun rises out of the sea, there is another round of red sun sticking tightly under the rising sun, as if to let it out of the sea. It seems that the stickiness can never be broken. There is a lot of precipitation in July and August, and the visibility of Beidaihe is not high in the early morning. If you want to see the sunrise, you'd better go after September.
In addition, the shoal beside it is also a great place for bird watching. Every spring and autumn (from mid March to late May and from early September to mid November), tens of thousands of rare migratory birds forage and stay here, becoming another new landscape. The best season for bird watching in Beidaihe.

Historical evolution
Reasons for the establishment of the park
In the summer of 1954, Chairman Mao Zedong once looked far away at pigeon Nest Park and wrote the immortal poem "langtaosha Beidaihe". To deeply remember Chairman Mao's great achievements, Beidaihe District government set up a poem stele and a statue of Chairman Mao in pigeon Nest Park. In 1985, a 50 meter long antique building, Wanghai corridor, was built at the top of the cliff in the southeast of the park. More than 100 traditional murals were painted in the corridor. There is a Book Pavilion in the south of the corridor, which is specially used by celebrities and tourists to write poems and paintings. There is a plaque of book Pavilion written by Vice Chairman Zhou Gucheng on the book Pavilion. On the west side of the pavilion, there are stele corridors and stele pavilions, on which there is a plaque of stele pavilions written by Vice Premier Fang Yi. There is an artificial lake on the West Beach of the park. The waterside pavilions, curved bridges and pavilions in the lake are places for you to rest and play. There are more than 600 square pigeons in the park, which can play and take pictures with you. Standing on the promenade, watching the sea, enjoying the red sun, watching the fishing sails on the sea, pigeon Nest Park will make you love it.
Source of garden name
Pigeon Nest Park, regarded as the symbol of Beidaihe District, is located in the northeast corner of Beidaihe seaside tourist attraction. On the cliff near the sea formed by the stratum fracture, there is a huge stone standing like an eagle, so it is called yingjiaoshi. The stone is more than 20 meters high. In the past, groups of pigeons used to gather or nest in the crevice of the stone, so it was named pigeon nest. Pigeon Nest Park is the best place to watch the sunrise on the sea. Every summer morning, tens of thousands of tourists gather here to watch the wonder of "bathing in the sea on a red sun".
Scenic spots in the park
Pigeon Nest Park is located in the northeast corner of Beidaihe seashore. On the 20 meter cliff near the sea formed by the stratum fracture, there is a huge rock, just like an eagle standing by the sea. Because it was once the habitat of wild pigeons, it left the name of pigeon nest. On the top of the cliff, which stands beside this huge stone, there is a pavilion with national characteristics - Yingjiao Pavilion. Built in 1937, the pavilion has been renovated several times. On the pavilion is a plaque inscribed in 1983 by Hu Juewen, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. The marble stele in the south of the pavilion is engraved with the poem "langtaosha Beidaihe" conceived by Mao Zedong here in the autumn of 1954. To the south of the pigeon nest, there is a long corridor overlooking the sea. The north and south ends of the corridor are respectively composed of a quadrangle Pavilion and an open Pavilion.
When watching the sunrise in the pigeon nest, you can often see the wonder of "bath day": when the red sun rises out of the sea, there is another round of red sun sticking tightly under the rising sun, as if to let it out of the sea. It seems that the stickiness can never be broken. But just as you watched, the sun on the top suddenly jumped up. The sun stuck on the bottom did not know when it had dived into the bottom of the sea. What remained on the sea was just a piece of golden light and people's cheers.
In addition, pigeon nest is the first choice to watch the sunrise, and the big shoal beside it is the best place to watch birds.
Yingjiao Pavilion
The plaque of "yingjiaoting" was inscribed by Hu Jue Wen, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, in the spring of 1989. In 1916, Zhu Qiqian, the founder of the Public Welfare Association, came to Beidaihe to build lianfengshan Park, the first big garden on the beach of Beidaihe. He was preparing to build a second garden, pigeon Nest Park. At that time, only a "yingjiaoting" was built here, and the July 7th incident happened in 1937. Zhu's wish failed to come true. In 1986, the government invested more than 3 million yuan to renovate pigeon Nest Park, which was opened to the public in the same year. The Yingjiao Pavilion we see is of Xieshan style with single eaves, stone columns and glazed tiles. It looks simple and vigorous in the garden, showing the architectural style of the Chinese nation.
Pigeon nest spring tide flat
Dove nest spring tide level is a good place to observe modern coastal deposits. We can see wave marks, rain marks, cracks, biological caves and other sedimentary structures. By comparing with the ancient strata of Liujiang Basin, we can decipher a large number of mysteries of paleogeography, paleoenvironment and paleoclimate. Qinhuangdao area has a high tide and a low tide every day, and the tidal range is very small, mostly within one meter. The depth of the sea water is relatively stable, which is especially suitable for bathing and swimming. "Soft sand and flat tide" is a proper evaluation. The spring tide flat in the north is equivalent to a delta estuary. When the spring tide flat goes up, it is slightly narrow in front. The tide can not be dispersed, so it is slowly and far inland. Seeing the spring tide here is different from that of Qiantang River. The spring tide of Qiantang River is overwhelming, surging, thundering and magnificent. Pigeon nest spring tide shows a kind of leisurely and determined style. Unknowingly, from our feet to the western chitushan bridge, the 700 meter long spring tide flat soon became a vast ocean. Viewing the sea here is a magnificent masterpiece of nature, which is full of ambition, hope and ideal. When the tide recedes, the sea water left on the tidal flat forms a beautiful picture. A photographer took a picture here, named melody of youth, which made the beauty of nature's fleeting nature eternal. Newspapers and magazines reprinted it one after another.
Pigeon nest is an ideal habitat for birds and a world-class bird watching resort with reefs, wetlands, dense trees and lush grass. There have been more than 14700 birds in this area. In a year, more than 400 species of birds can be seen, accounting for 40% of the visible birds in China. Every spring and autumn, bird experts and lovers at home and abroad watch birds in the pigeon nest area. In 1999, an international bird watching competition was held in Beidaihe. Birds are the most authoritative natural environment appraisers. The habitat chosen by birds must have the best environmental quality. No wonder someone wrote such a poem here: birds are always the smartest, preferring to good mountains and good waters. Can know good and evil, understand people, blue sea green peak white spirit. The beautiful natural environment of Beidaihe is not only the result of nature, but also the result of local residents' efforts to protect it from generation to generation.
Yuanyang Lake
It turned out to be a beach, low-lying, abandoned all year round. Later, in 1985, a dam was built to block the sea. The floodgate was opened by the rising tide to inject sea water. When the floodgate fell, a small calm lake, named Yuanyang Lake, was formed. There is a small island in the lake called lover island. Every summer, many young men and women in love are in the forest. They are sweet and romantic.
Statue of the chairman
The statue of the chairman is 3.2 meters high, with a height of 2.7 meters in imitation of granite base. In the east of the base, Mao Zedong's poem "langtaosha · Beidaihe" is carved in marble. The statue was made by Beidaihe District Government in 1992 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mao Zedong's birth.
On July 26, 1954, Mao Zedong came to Beidaihe for the second time to prepare for the first National People's Congress. On August 10, a rainstorm occurred in Beidaihe area, and the water level of Daihe rose sharply, even endangering the Jingshan railway. Mao Zedong touched on the scene and wrote "waves washing sand · Beidaihe". You Yan rain down, white waves surging, Qinhuangdao fishing boat outside, a vast ocean are missing, know to whom side? The past is more than a thousand years, Wei Wu whip, East Jieshi has a legacy, bleak autumn wind is now, changed the world.
After the poem was written, it was not published in public until 1957. Chairman Mao Zedong's poem reveals the dialectical method of "the country has not changed, the personnel has changed". "Wei Wu" in poetry refers to Cao Cao, emperor of Wei Wu. "Yipian" in "Yipian on Jieshi in the East" refers to Cao Cao's four character ancient poem "watching the sea". In May of the 12th year of Jian'an, Cao Cao won the eastern expedition to Wuhuan and was in a good mood. His party calmed down the north, and the next step was to cross the Yangtze River and unify China. He led a large group of people to go back to the court along the coastal road. He came here to watch the sea, watch the sunrise, and touch the scene. He wrote this famous poem that has been handed down through the ages. Chairman Mao Zedong looks back on the past with great emotion
