The legendary well left over from the Southern Song Dynasty is called horseshoe well or song Huangjing by local people. According to historical records, when the right prime ministers Lu Xiufu and Wen Tianxiang of the Southern Song Dynasty escorted song Ruizong, who was only 11 years old, and his younger brother Zhao Min, who was king of Wei, from the sea to Naozhou, they stationed in Chima village. A horse gouged a Koizumi hole under the hillside outside the village, and was dug into a well by soldiers. This is the origin of the name of horseshoe well. This ancient well has been used by the islanders for more than 700 years. It is said that the well water can be used for transportation and beauty. The well water is less than three meters deep and clear. The trickling spring water from the well flows in the low-lying land outside the well. It is clear and moist. It is also jokingly said that if you wash your hands with well water, you will have a good hand in playing cards. If you are curious about whether the rumors are true or false, you may as well have a try.
