The two caves are located at the easternmost end of Yungang Grottoes. Because the two caves are similar in shape and content, they are called "double caves". The two caves are square in plane, with the central tower in the center. The cave is narrow in front and wide in back, high in front and low in back. The central tower of cave one is two stories, and cave two is three stories. The pagodas are square in shape, with Buddha statues carved on all four sides. In the second cave, three Buddhas are carved on all four sides and three floors, which is the third Buddha. In the north of the cave, there are abundant sculptures with exquisite techniques. The wall layout is: along with the top of the cave, there are a series of statues of maids of Jiyue, a series of Zen sitting Buddhas below, a large niche sitting Buddhas in the middle of the cave, ornate decorations on the niche lintel, and relief Buddha stories and the ranks of donors in the lower part.
The top of the first cave is flying in the sky, with a shining bun on its head and a gentle expression on its face. Its hands are like lotus flowers, and its dress is like a long ribbon floating. It's like a graceful young dancer sitting on the cloud obliquely.
