Jiang Nu Temple
Located at the foot of Jinshan mountain in the suburb of Tongchuan, the temple is about 1.5 kilometers away from the ancient city of Tongchuan. With convenient transportation and elegant environment, the legend of Jiangnv is mysterious. According to the general annals of Shaanxi, the unified annals of Daming, the annals of prefectures, and the inscriptions of mengjiangnu temple in Shanhaiguan, "mengjiangnu was a member of Tongguan (now Tongchuan suburb) in Shaanxi Province.".
history
Built more than 1000 years ago, the Jiangnu ancestral hall in Tongchuan had been renovated and expanded in song, yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties. By the Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty, it had become a large-scale and famous historical site with numerous temples.
At the end of the Republic of China, due to the destruction of the reactionary army of the Kuomintang, the ancestral temple of Jiang Nu was gradually deserted.
In 1990, the suburban people's government invested a lot of money in the renovation and expansion of the temple.
After four years of hard work, it is open to tourists with a new look.
The gate, pavilion, statue of Meng Jiangnu and steps of the newly built temple are scattered layer upon layer. The gate is three rooms wide, imitating the Xieshan architecture of the Qing Dynasty. The half arched cornice and the plaque of "Meng Jiangnu" are hung on the front of the middle gate. In the gate courtyard, there stands a statue of Meng Jiangnu with a height of 4.5 meters. On the base with a height of 1.5 meters, there is engraved the memorial ceremony of Meng Jiangnu by Qin Yang, governor of Shaanxi Province in the Ming Dynasty There is a poem stele of the ancients singing about the ancestral temple of Jiang nu.
The story of Meng Jiangnu is very popular in our country, especially among the people, and has a distinct personality. Among the many stories of Meng Jiangnu, the Jiangnu temple in Tongchuan is one of the most attractive places for people to visit.
Legend
It is said that Meng Jiangnu sent cold clothes thousands of miles away, but she didn't see her husband's face. She was so sad that she burst into tears. All of a sudden, she cried 800 miles down the Great Wall. In the ruins, she found her husband's skeleton.
So she went back with her bones. As soon as she reached the golden gate, the Qin soldiers came after her. In her hurry, Meng Jiangnu grabbed the cliff around her and blocked the pursuit. People turned the mountain into a moving mountain.
She went on. When she came to the foot of tongguanjin mountain, she met a mason.
The stonecutter said, "you are a" rootless duckweed, a helpless person. "I'm not married. I'm single and I'm wandering outside. Would you like us to be husband and wife?"? Meng Jiangnu didn't answer, but she just kept crying. The Mason thought that Meng Jiangnu agreed and said happily, "I'm going to dig a stone cave here. Let's talk about it first.". The cave was chiseled out. Meng Jiangnu is dead.
However, the two eyes continue to flow string of tears.
After two thousand and two hundred years of changes, Meng Jiangnu's tears are still left, left to a stone pit beside the mountain, accumulated into a spring of water, later known as the "tear pool".
The spring water is still flowing. It's clear, sweet and refreshing. If you drink it often, it can prolong your life, improve your eyesight and appetizer, especially for the treatment of white hair. No wonder the old people nearby come here early in the morning to pick up water and make tea. The local people respected her integrity, so they built a temple with the stone cave as the center, made a statue of her and set up a temple to offer sacrifices.
There is a gap in the stone kiln. It is said that when sincere people kowtow, they can see the shadow of the golden hairpin on Jiang Nu's head. This kind of scene is called "see gold in stone gap".
Other information
Meng Jiangnu is said to be from Qin Dynasty.
It is far from clear when the temple was built. According to Tongguan county annals of the Republic of China, there is a stone cave named Jiangnv under Jinshan cliff in Erli, north of the county, which can be widely used.
The local people built a temple for the statue, which is also called mengjiangnu temple. Like two people, left fan Lang, right Jiang nu. In the 25th year of Jiajing reign of the Ming Dynasty (1546), Kang Qinghong, the county magistrate, added a sacrificial silver and a temple husband In 1666, Wu Lingmo, the county magistrate, rebuilt the ancestral hall under the stone niche and inscribed it with the words "Jin Chai Xian lie". In 1770, yuan Wenguan, the magistrate of Qianlong County, was rebuilt. Three buildings were built. There were many steles beside the road outside the gate, and many good deeds were chanted.
During the period of the Republic of China, it was demolished by the Kuomintang garrison, leaving only stone caves and square stone blocks. In 1990, the municipal government and the government of Yintai District invested in the restoration of memorial pavilions, mountain gates and stele corridors, which were opened to the public in the autumn of 1993. It is now announced as a municipal cultural relics protection unit.
Meng Jiangnu, according to the annals of prefectures: "Meng Jiangnu, a Tongguan in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, is suitable for Fan Zhi.". It is also recorded in the Yi Tong Zhi of the Ming Dynasty that "Meng Jiangnu was the same official of Shaanxi.".
In the Ming Dynasty inscriptions of Shanhaiguan Jiangnu temple, there are "Zhennv Mengjiang, the same official in Shaanxi", and the same records in Tongzhi of Shaanxi and Linyu county annals. In Yao Zhou Zhi written by Qiao Sanshi of Ming Dynasty, there is "Li Rugui of Li Zhou in Ming Dynasty said: Meng Jiangnv, a native of Li Zhou". Yuan Wenguan, the county magistrate of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, judged his biography as "too absurd to be checked.".
What's more doubtful about the same officials in the book of unification
The story of Meng Jiangnu is widely spread among the people in ancient and modern times, and is also recorded in the old annals. Legend has it that when Qin Shihuang was the first emperor, there was Meng Jiangnu, the same official.
Fan Lang is suitable for his wife. Three days after his marriage, fan Lang served to build the Great Wall. Jiang NV came to the stage to see her husband, but she didn't come back for a long time.
I made my own clothes and traveled thousands of miles to the Great Wall. When he heard that his husband was dead and his remains were buried in the city wall, he was very sad. He looked up to the sky and beat his chest, and the sound of crying shocked the ground.
A corner of the city was suddenly destroyed, and there were countless skeletons that could not be identified. If Jiang Nu bites her finger and drips blood into her bones, she is known as her husband's bones. When I went to the side of Nanshan Road in Yijun, I was very tired and thirsty. I wanted to drink without water. I cried aloud and drank in the sweet spring. Later generations called this place "crying spring".
Jiang Nu rushed back to her hometown and went to jinsuoguan. Then the Qin soldiers chased her. Suddenly the mountain turned back to the peak, and the road ahead was blocked. The pursuers pulled out their horses and returned. It was difficult for Jiang Nu to get rid of it. Today, there is "Nu Hui Shan" (also known as ban Zhuan Shan) in Jinsuo pass of Yintai. Jiang Nu took her husband's body and walked to the foot of Jinshan mountain in the north of Tongguan city. She was exhausted and died in Xiya Grottoes with her husband's bone in her arms.
People attach great importance to their chastity, burying Jiang Nu and her husband's bones here, and setting up temples and statues for sacrifice. In the past, there were green mountains, green rocks, verdant cypresses and willows, long ancestral halls and pavilions, clear springs and scattered pearls, as well as "Ginger lady's tears pool" and "gold in stone gap". If you climb the pavilion, you can see the ancient copper water road, which makes you think of the past and go to the border. "Jiang NV Qingfeng" is one of the eight scenes of the same official. In 2013, Yintai District Jiangnu Temple scenic spot was approved by Shaanxi Province
The provincial quality evaluation committee of scenic spots rated it as a national 2A scenic spot.
