brief introduction
Longquan pagoda (Longquan Temple) has a magnificent scale. From a distance, you can see the yellow walls and tiles, the green pines and the blue sky. When you look around the temple, you can see the main hall in the middle of the temple is magnificent, the verandahs on both sides are neat, the Buddha statues in the hall are vivid, and all kinds of inscriptions in the room are elegant and simple. During the Wanli period of Ming Dynasty, Wang Yuanbin wrote in Teng county annals: "the temple is very magnificent At the age of 20, it was the spring reception center. Today, both the abbots of the two corridors have fallen down, although they are not as good as before. " By the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, most of the huge buildings of Longquan Temple collapsed and were in disrepair. The splendid Longquan Temple has become history, but the Longquan tower stands tall through the clouds of history. As for the naming of Longquan pagoda, according to historical records, "there is also a big spring, which is used to float folk houses, so the pagoda was built in the town, and the name of Longquan has its own cloud.". The origin of the name of the tower may be related to water.
Tracing back to the source
When was Longquan tower built? Due to the long history and the loss of data, it is still inconclusive. In Teng county annals written by Daoguang of Qing Dynasty, there is a poem with the title of "Fu Tu Zhi Yu": it was inscribed with Wei Zhaoying for a long time, and Zhuo Li Longquan founded this hooligan. Cui yiqufeng Qi Yuxiu, shadow floating seven alone contain Qing. Ling Yun is even more powerful, so he should hold the daily situation together. The wind over the golden bell sound Fu Fu, dun teach folk Ear Wash PA Zheng. Therefore, it can be inferred that the Longquan tower may have been built after the county city was moved to the East in the period of Tang, yuan and he, about 1200 years ago.
For thousands of years, Longquan tower has been eroded by wind and rain, especially the test of the great earthquake in the reign of Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty. It can still stand tall, which is related to the good quality of the original building and the constant maintenance.
In March 1938, during the battle of Tengxian County, the prelude to the famous Taierzhuang war, the Japanese bombed Tengxian county. The ancient pagoda was devastated by the war. The pagoda was destroyed, the eaves and brackets fell off, and the pagoda was full of holes and scars. Tengxian county Party committee and government allocated special funds for comprehensive maintenance. On July 10, 1984, the construction started. The toppling top tower room was cleaned up, the ninth tower wall and gate were built, and the top of the tower was poured with concrete. Eight petal metal lotus summer basin seat and baohulu tower brake are installed, and lightning protection device is installed. In each layer of eaves above the chisel groove, pouring reinforced concrete buried ring beam, outside with green brick cover, strengthen the peak waist below xumizuo. After more than five months of hard work, it was completed on December 25. The renovated Longquan tower is more majestic and solemn, standing on the Bank of Jinghe River with a brand-new attitude.

legend
It is said that a long time ago, Tengzhou was a very beautiful and prosperous place with peaceful and prosperous times and peaceful country and people. Suddenly one day, it became dark, thunder and lightning, heavy rain. What's going on? It turned out that the Jade Emperor demoted a white dragon who had violated the rules of heaven. But it is stubborn, still disobeying the rules and endangering the people.
People don't know why God is angry. They all burn incense and kowtow at home. Please don't rain again. Just as people were begging, the Dragon appeared in the rain. It opened its teeth and claws and said to the common people: if people don't send pigs, cows and sheep to the place it said, it will make wind and rain and submerge the crops. The people were afraid and had to agree to it. Seeing that the Dragon agreed to it, he accepted the magic and waited for a good meal. After the Dragon left, the people had to send their livestock, every year. In a few years, all the livestock were eaten by the dragon. The dragon still wanted to eat every day, and the amount of food was increasing. The common people groan and frown, but there is no way.
One day, an old man with a white beard came here to ask for food. Hearing people say this, he said to the people, "this is a dragon. We can't call it evil any more. We should get rid of it." People were very happy to hear him say this, but immediately hesitated: can such an old man get rid of the dragon? You can't hurt him. The old man didn't wait for people to say it. As if he had seen through their mind, he insisted: "I have a way to get rid of it. As long as you send more livestock and good wine tonight, don't worry about me.".
When it's dark, it's time to send food to the dragon, people will do as the old man said. The dragon was hungry. When he saw so many things, he opened his mouth to eat and drink. It was a storm. After a while, he was full of wine and food and fell asleep. At this time, the old man came out of the crowd, reached out and took out a tower like a little finger from his clothes, and covered it to the dragon. Strange to say, the tower became very big when it saw the wind. It covered the dragon, and the dragon was still dreaming.
When people saw this scene, they were shocked. When they remembered to thank the old man, the old man had disappeared. They yelled everywhere, only to hear someone talking on their heads. When they looked up, it was the old man, and they all knelt down and kowtowed. I was sent by the Jade Emperor to kill the dragon. The dragon is pinned down by the tower. It will never do evil. You can plant crops and live a good life in the future. " That's the origin of Longquan tower.
