Duntai mountain
According to the record of the Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates often harassed China's coastal areas from the sea in the Ming Dynasty. In 1416 ad, Emperor Chengzu of the Ming Dynasty ordered that eight yanduns be built from liangfangkou (now Yingkou) in the north to weizitao (now Fudu River) in the south to guard the sea. Among them, the Shenjing Yandun refers to the beacon tower of Duntai mountain in Bayuquan.

Beacon tower of Duntai mountain
Duntai mountain is named after the Ming Dynasty beacon tower built on the top of the mountain.
The main body of the beacon tower is made of green brick, and there are granite strips at the base. Each brick is about 40 cm long, 20 cm wide and 10 cm thick. The upper part of the platform is narrow and the lower part is wide. The bottom is square. Each side is about 15 meters long. The upper part is about 11 meters long. There are battlements on the upper part. The wall surface is flat, and each wall has two wedge-shaped "water slide" and air vents with top sharp and bottom wide concave into the wall, which are used to drain the top rainwater and ignite the fire for ventilation. The design is quite ingenious. The total height of the wall is about 13 meters. The beacon tower is solid, rammed with sand inside, and built with battlements, about 1.6 meters high, with 1 meter long battlements on each side.
Due to long-term wind and rain erosion and man-made destruction, the original appearance of the beacon tower has long been gone. The beacon tower was rebuilt in 1988. In 1995, the station was designated as a patriot education base by Bayuquan District government.
