Yichun Museum
Yichun Museum, located at 536 Luzhou North Road, Yichun City, Jiangxi Province, was established in 1979. In June 2010, the museum merged with the cultural relics management office. The Museum covers an area of 2112 square meters and a building area of 11400 square meters.
Yichun Museum has a total collection of 11225 pieces and 1104 pieces of precious cultural relics (including 13 pieces of grade I, 75 pieces of grade II and 1016 pieces of grade III). Yichun Museum has a sequence hall, 7 basic exhibition halls and 2 temporary exhibition halls.

Development history
In June 1968, Yichun county set up an office to publicize "Chairman Mao's revolutionary activities in Yichun" under the Yichun County Revolutionary Committee.
In May 1978, Yichun county set up a leading group to publicize Chairman Mao's revolutionary activities, which is subordinate to the Propaganda Department of the CPC Yichun County Committee.
On February 26, 1979, Yichun county established the Yichun County Revolutionary Museum, and the Yichun County Leading Group for propaganda of Chairman Mao's revolutionary activities was abolished.
On April 15, 1982, Yichun County revolutionary museum was renamed Yichun County Museum, under Yichun County Bureau of culture and education.
On November 4, 1982, Yichun City (county level city) cultural relics survey leading group was renamed Yichun City Cultural Relics Management Committee Office.
On August 25, 1984, Yichun City (county-level city) established Yichun City Museum, which works together with the office of the Municipal Cultural Relics Management Committee.
In 1984, Yichun City (county-level city) established Yichun regional museum, namely Yichun regional cultural relics management office.
On April 19, 1985, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the removal of Yichun county and the establishment of Yichun city. Yichun County Museum was incorporated into Yichun City Museum (County Museum).
In the second half of 1995, Yichun museum was moved to No.18 Yuanshan Avenue on Zhongshan Middle Road, and a new museum was built.
In December 2000, the Ministry of Civil Affairs approved the establishment of Yichun City from Yichun District, which was renamed Yichun city. Yichun cultural relics management office was changed into Yichun cultural relics management office.
In March 2001, Yichun City Museum was officially upgraded from county-level museum to prefecture level Museum (section level).
On January 18, 2008, Yichun Museum opened free of charge, establishing the first free Municipal Museum in Jiangxi Province.
On September 30, 2009, Yichun museum was approved by Yichun Municipal Party committee and government to build a new museum on the east side of the municipal building in Yiyang new district.
In June 2010, Yichun cultural relics museum management office and Yichun museum were merged.
On December 28, 2012, the new Yichun museum was officially opened to the public.

Yichun Museum has five floors, one underground and four above ground. It is divided into three functional areas: cultural relics storehouse and collection protection area, open exhibition area, academic seminar and office area. There are 1 preface hall, 7 basic exhibition halls and 2 temporary exhibition halls.

The basic exhibition centers on the historical evolution and characteristic brand culture of Yichun, and is divided into five parts: historical civilization, modern historical sites, Zen culture, folk culture and natural ecology. It fully integrates the natural and humanistic concepts and comprehensively displays the historical and cultural connotation of Yichun. Through independent planning and foreign exchange, temporary exhibitions regularly launch new kinds of temporary exhibitions with distinctive themes and rich contents.
Historical civilization
Yichun Museum of history and civilization is divided into three exhibition halls. The first exhibition hall is the resplendence under the dust, which tells about the major archaeological discoveries in Yichun. A series of major archaeological discoveries, such as the Shang Dynasty site in Wucheng, Zhangshu, the Eastern Zhou tomb in lizhou'ao, Jing'an, the blue and white hoard in Yuan Dynasty, Gao'an, and the paper mill site in song, yuan and Ming Dynasty in Hualin, shocked the world and highlighted the rich historical connotation of a prosperous nation. The second exhibition hall is about the historical evolution of Yichun, which tells about the historical changes of building a county, establishing a state and setting up a government; the third exhibition hall is about the outstanding people, which tells about the academy culture and historical celebrities of Yichun.
Modern history
The modern and contemporary historical relics of Yichun museum are mainly composed of Autumn Harvest Uprising in the period of agrarian revolution, Hunan Hubei Jiangxi Revolutionary Base and Shanggao battle in the period of Anti Japanese war. It also introduces the revolutionary achievements closely related to Yichun.
Zen culture
In the Zen culture section of Yichun Museum, firstly, it introduces the formation and development of Zen. Next, it introduces the two Buddhist temples where mazudaoyi and baizhanghuaihai live, the ancestral temple formed by three sects and the ten existing famous temples. Finally, it introduces what Zen is, the influence of Zen on Chinese traditional culture and Zen stories.
folk culture
The folk culture part of Yichun museum is divided into two main parts: "flower blossom folk" and "traditional crafts". The content includes Gao'an Tea Picking Opera, Fengcheng yuejiashi, Wanzai Desheng drum, KaiKou Nuo, Xiabu, fireworks, Zhangshu medicine custom, etc. From the aspects of its origin and influence.
Natural ecology
The natural ecology part of Yichun Museum mainly displays the beautiful scenery of Yichun City from two aspects of plants and mineral resources, and the rich resources of Yichun city.

In 2008, Yichun museum was awarded the national third level museum by the State Administration of cultural relics.

In July 2015, Yichun Museum won the title of "patriotic education base of China Federation of radio, film and television social organizations".
In September 2016, Yichun museum was selected into the list of social science popularization bases in Jiangxi Province.
In September 2018, Yichun museum was announced as a national second-class Museum by China Museum Association.
