Daquangou reservoir
Daquangou reservoir is located 18 kilometers north of Shihezi city. It was built in 1954. The water around the reservoir is covered with elms and willows, and the pavilions and houses are scattered. The total area of the reservoir is 10 square kilometers. Carp, silver carp, crucian carp, grass carp and imported fish are cultivated in the reservoir.

Jiahezi reservoir is the only river blocking reservoir in the middle reaches of Mahe river. It is located in the northeast of Shihezi City, and its geographical coordinates are east longitude and north latitude. Because the flood control standard of the reservoir can not meet the design requirements, it is listed as a dangerous reservoir, and the dam safety category is assessed as three types of dam. The expansion of daquangou flood diversion channel is an important engineering measure in the reinforcement of Jiahezi reservoir. The flood diversion canal diverts water from the flood diversion sluice. During the flood period, it diverts the flood to daquangou reservoir and Mushu lake reservoir respectively. From the flood diversion sluice to daquangou reservoir and from the sluice to Mushu lake reservoir, the existing canal is an earth canal with trapezoidal cross section. The canal is located in the spring overflow zone. There is spring overflow all the year round. There are many water intake along the canal. Both sides of the canal are national basic farmland and residential areas.

In order to make full use of the existing project and reduce the project cost, daquangou flood diversion channel is still arranged according to the old channel line in the selection of channel line, and the current situation is reconstructed and expanded to expand the flow capacity and achieve the purpose of flood diversion. Through flood routing and combining with the current situation of the project, the design flow of daquangou flood channel is determined as follows: because daquangou flood diversion channel is located in the spring overflow zone and the groundwater level is high, it is the groundwater supplement channel water, there is no problem of channel water leakage, and the channel foundation soil is frost heaving soil. Therefore, the reconstruction and expansion of daquangou flood diversion channel should mainly solve two problems in design: one is the problem of anti scour, the other is the problem of anti freezing. Because both sides of the canal are basic farmland protection areas, if the earth canal section is adopted, a large amount of basic farmland, houses, canals and roads will be occupied in some sections. According to the statistics, the soil canal scheme needs to occupy mu of basic farmland, mu of forest belt (cutting trees) and houses, and several water drops need to be added to reduce the flow velocity of the channel. In order to reduce earth excavation, occupy less basic farmland, houses and roads, make full use of local materials, and improve the anti scour capacity and overflow capacity of the channel, the lining structure of the channel mainly solves the problems of anti scour, drainage and anti frost heaving. Therefore, the concrete mesh dry pebble lining scheme is mainly used in the design to solve the above problems, which basically does not occupy the cultivated land on both sides of the canal and has no impact on the original facilities on both sides of the canal.
