Huangyan Yongning Park
Huangyan Yongning park is located in Huangyan District, Taizhou City, Zhejiang Province, covering an area of 21 hectares. It is a case of ecological restoration and reconstruction of Yongning River in Huangyan, Zhejiang Province by Taizhou government.
It is located on the Bank of Yongning River in Huangyan, Zhejiang Province, with a total length of 1.5 km and an area of 21.6 hectares. Based on the attitude of "making friends with flood" and the design concept, the designer took the former cement hardened river course with flood control as a single function, and applied a large number of native species to protect the riverbank, forming a diversified habitat system in the riverside area, Yongning park is a modern ecological and cultural recreation place full of vitality. The project organically combines urban stormwater management, local biological protection and residents' daily recreation activities to make urban land use intensive and create a healthy and beautiful living environment in the most economical way. As a demonstration project of Yongning River Ecological Corridor, Huangyan Yongning Park won the 2005 "China living environment model award" issued by the Ministry of construction for its outstanding achievements in ecological transformation and environmental comprehensive improvement. On April 24, 2006, the American Association of Landscape Architects (ASLA) announced the professional award of this year, and "floating garden Yongning River Ecological Flood Control Project in Huangyan, Zhejiang" (Yongning Park) won the professional design Honor Award. The well-known Yongning park has spread good news at the international urban waterfront conference held in Boston, USA. the water front center announced the "highest honor award" for the 21st World Urban Waterfront outstanding design. The two projects of Huangyan Yongning Park and Hong Kong Wetland Park shared this honor. Since 2003, Taizhou city has commissioned Professor Yu Kongjian from the Institute of landscape design of Peking University and his Peking University and local design team to carry out urban ecological infrastructure planning by applying the "anti planning" theory to guide and frame the overall urban spatial development pattern. Yongning park is an early demonstration project of the whole Taizhou ecological infrastructure, which fully embodies the concept of "anti planning" urban planning and ecological environment construction. Since its completion in 2004, Huangyan Yongning park has been awarded the 2006 "China living environment model award" by the Chinese Ministry of construction and the 2006 "ASLA professional design Honor Award" by the American Association of landscape architects. The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) highly praised this project: "ingenious architectural design, exquisite natural vegetation configuration, creating perceptual experience space, good works!"
