Liu Yingjun Memorial
Liu Yingjun was born on April 8, 1945 in the suburb of Changchun City, Jilin Province. He joined the army in August 1962 and worked as a soldier in the heavy artillery company of 3029 army. On March 15, 1966, martyr Liu Yingjun died. In 1967, Changchun Municipal People's government named Liu Yingjun's birthplace as "Yingjun commune" (now renamed "Yingjun township"), and built "Liu Yingjun Memorial Hall".
Character history
On March 15, 1966, when Liu Yingjun's company was on a training mission in the suburb of Jiamusi City, the horse pulling the heavy artillery truck was frightened. At the peak of the flow of people to work, the horse ran straight to the front of six children, and the lives of the masses were seriously threatened. At this critical moment, Liu Yingjun pulled the reins back, at the same time, he didn't put his feet on the back legs of the horse... The horse was kicked down, and six children were saved. However, Liu Yingjun was heavily pressed by the artillery truck and died after rescue.
After Liu Yingjun died, his party committee recognized him as a member of the Communist Party of China. The General Political Department of the Chinese people's Liberation Army called on all officers and soldiers to learn from him and remember his first-class merit. In that year, on July 28, the people's Daily published an editorial entitled "people's good son", which set off a climax of learning from Liu Yingjun all over the country.
On March 15, 1967, the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications issued "Liu Yingjun" commemorative stamps to the whole country; Jiamusi Municipal People's government built a martyr's cemetery at the place where Liu Yingjun died; Changchun Municipal People's government named Liu Yingjun's birthplace as "Yingjun commune" (now renamed "Yingjun township"), and built "Liu Yingjun Memorial Hall".
Reopen
On the 36th anniversary of the martyr Liu Yingjun's death in Changchun, the Liu Yingjun memorial hall, which has a new look inside and outside, will be reopened. It will serve as an important base for patriotic education, and will receive visits and visits from all walks of life.
In 1967, in memory of the proud son of the spring city, Changchun City established the Liu Yingjun Memorial Hall in balibao, Erdao District, where the martyr was born, and opened it to the public in 1968. The memorial hall once received many people's visits and visits. Due to historical reasons, the memorial hall was closed in 1972. Since the beginning of 2000, Changchun City has decided to resume the exhibition of the memorial hall in order to praise the heroic deeds of the martyrs, stimulate the patriotic enthusiasm of the general public, and actively give financial support. The municipal revolutionary martyrs cemetery management office is responsible for the large-scale repair and transformation of the museum. Now, the museum is completely new.
