General situation of the town
Lizhuang is located on the South Bank of the mighty Yangtze River in Yibin City, Sichuan Province. It is named after a large natural stone pillar in the town. The well-known wooden attics, narrow alleys paved with bluestone slabs, tall wooden doorsill and heavy wooden doors, and well preserved ancient houses and temples have made it a famous historical and cultural town in China. Therefore, there is a saying that Zhouzhuang is in the East and Lizhuang is in the West.
Lizhuang has a history of 1460 years. It is a thousand year old town on the edge of the Yangtze River. It thrives along the Yangtze River, forming a natural landscape of "the river leads Minshan, flows through chuze, peaks row out of Guiling, and shows Xianyuan". The "nine palaces and eighteen temples" composed of temples, palaces and halls, the former site of China construction society, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, the well preserved ancient streets and alleys, numerous quadrangles of ancient dwellings, and the spiral hall, Kuixing Pavilion, Jiulong stone tablet and Baihe window, which are known as the "four wonders" of Lizhuang, form the unique culture and architectural style of Lizhuang's ancient dwellings.

There are more than 10 well preserved ancient buildings, including Huiguang temple, Dongyue Temple and xuanluo hall in Ming Dynasty, Yuwang palace, Wenchang palace, Nanhua palace, Tiantian palace and zhangjiaci temple in Qing Dynasty. The ancient architectural complex is large in scale and rigorous in layout, which fully reflects the characteristics of temples and halls in southern Sichuan during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The wood and stone carvings in the ancient buildings are of fine workmanship, vivid images and high artistic appreciation value. The style of Yangjie and xizixiang in the town is simple, reflecting the folk customs of southern Sichuan in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
cultural center
Lizhuang town was also one of the cultural centers in the rear area during the Anti Japanese war. In 1939, national Tongji University, Academia Sinica, the Central Museum, the Central Institute of construction, the China geodesy Institute, the Institute of Arts of Jinling University and other well-known institutions of higher learning and research moved to Lizhuang town from Beijing, Nanjing, Shanghai and other places. It was not until 1947 after the victory of the Anti Japanese war that they moved back to their original places. This has a profound impact on Li Zhuang's society, economy and culture.
Old street and famous Lane
In addition to those luxurious buildings, there are also ordinary dwellings on the old streets of Lizhuang. The best preserved one is Xizi lane. This is an old street built in the early Qing Dynasty. It is not more than 60 meters long and 2.5 meters wide. However, it has attracted countless tourists, including American, French and Japanese. Many TV stations have come to interview it. Four golden tourist routes, the first town of the Yangtze River, have come here to shoot documentaries, such as CCTV, Sichuan TV and Hong Kong Phoenix TV. At first glance, I think it's just an old street with no special place. After a careful look, I found that it has its own characteristics. The whole street is a wooden structure with one floor and one floor. The wooden stilted building on the second floor has eaves, which covers the narrow street. The eaves on both sides of the street are only 40 cm away. When you look up from the market, you can see only a trace of the sky. Therefore, Xi Zi lane is also called a line of sky. This small street with green tiles blocks the sunshine and rain, and also blocks the noise of the outside world. People are not in a hurry to live a leisurely life. People who carry water, pull cars, and shake cattail fans walk slowly. In the past, it was a place for processing and selling straw mats, hence the name of mats lane.
Today, there is no bustle of the past, and it is very quiet. "Li zhuangtong" left Zhaohuan teacher lives in Xi Zi lane, his home seems to be the most lively place. Some of his visitors or reporters often go to his home to inquire about Li Zhuang's stories. He always talks about Li Zhuang's past. In banli'ao, 5km southwest of Lizhuang Town, there is a Lifeng villa. In the villa, there is a stone tablet standing in 1946. The name of the tablet is "leave Lizhuang Lifeng tablet". At the bottom of the tablet is a long string of names. If you look at it carefully, you can see that they are all famous scholars at that time, such as Fu Sinian, Liang Siyong, Liang Sicheng, etc. In 1937, the Japanese invaders invaded North China, and Beijing fell into the enemy's hands. At that time, the national government was defeated. The China construction society, founded in 1929, moved to Wuhan, Changsha, Kunming and other places for several times. With the advance of the Japanese army's iron hoof and bombing, the transportation between Yunnan and Myanmar was cut off. December 1940, China
