General situation

Dai Li's former residence is in the west of the middle section of xiabaoan Township street, xianxialing, Jiangshan City, Zhejiang Province. Built in 1943, it was designed by Dai Li himself and supervised by Dai chunbang, Dai Li's younger brother. The building area is nearly 1000 square meters. The former residence was originally a quadrangle courtyard facing east in the West. Dai Li's former residence looks like an ordinary house with white walls, tiles and wood structure. When you walk in, you can see from the front that it's a two-story house. In fact, it's a three story building with a small darkroom on the bottom floor. There are two stairs in the room, one bright and the other dark. The staircase is spiral in shape. It only allows one person to pass by. It is located behind the wall cabinet and cloth curtain, and is not easy to detect. There are many windows and doors in the rooms upstairs, and the rooms are interlinked, like nine links.

Inside the gate, there is a pebble path in the middle. There are flower beds on both sides of the path. The side room of the altar used to be a guard room (reconstructed). Enter the second door, the left is the guest room, the right is the accounting room. Inside the three gates is the main building of the former residence. It is a unique building with two floors in front and three floors in back built according to the terrain. The first floor has front and back living rooms, study rooms, guest rooms, dining rooms, etc.; the second and third floors are Dai's bedroom, living room, study room and small living room. The design of the building is exquisite and novel.

The living room on the first floor is very high, which is no different from the main hall of a large family; on the second floor, each room is equipped with many windows.

Dai Li's former residence is surrounded by four corridors. Equipped with two sets of light and dark stairs. The open staircase is on the right side of the front hall, which is the same as the stairs of ordinary people; the hidden staircase is painstakingly arranged. In the front and back hall, the staircase is spiral in shape, and the width is only one person. The upper entrance of the stairs is on the third floor, and the lower exit leads to the basement. There is a small door at the top and bottom of the ladder, which is closed at ordinary times and integrated with the board wall. In Dai Li's mother's house on the second floor, there is a peculiar make-up mirror. Dai Li is a filial son, very filial to his mother. He specially imported this expensive make-up mirror from abroad. When his mother combed her hair and dressed up, no matter what angle she looked in the mirror, the portrait would not deform.

Dai Li's close friend is in the back hall, while the confidential business is in the living room upstairs. In the spring of 1945, major general Meles, deputy director of the Institute of Sino US cooperation, came here and discussed military affairs in the living room upstairs.

On both sides of the living room are the bedrooms of Dai chunbang and Dai Li's son Dai Zangyi.

The former residence used to have luxurious furnishings, with a screen in front of the door and a pearl curtain hanging on the door. On the front hall, a gold plaque of "Shude hall" written by Dai Li himself was hung high, and a painting of the hall was hung under it. There are clocks and vases on the table. There are paintings and paintings on the wall. In the middle of the living room upstairs, there is a portrait of general Dai Yunong, which is inscribed by Wu Jingheng (Wu Zhihui). On both sides are the certificates of appointment of major generals Dai Zangyi and Dai chunbang, and on the bottom are the swords of "soldier's soul" signed by Jiang Zhongzheng. The floor is carpeted, the bed is equipped with Simmons, and all the furniture such as cupboards and stools are made of mahogany.

In the middle of "Shude hall" is the only standard photo taken by Dai Li in his life. Because Dai Li worked as a spy all his life, he hardly took photos for the sake of secrecy and life. Therefore, after his death, he found the only positive portrait of himself. There are elegiac couplets inscribed by Zhang Shizhao on both sides of the portrait

In the West courtyard of the former residence, there stands a golden Qian pine, which was transported from the United States by Dai Li and planted by hand. It is more than 10 meters high. The crown of the tree is like a tower, and it goes straight into the sky over the window of the building. Originally, merles sent two jinqiansong and one Dai Li, which symbolized the friendship between China and the United States. Don't want to, in later days, Jin qiansong somehow died a plant.

The south side of the main building is the auxiliary room, with the kitchen in the front and the helper's residence in the back. The lower layer is equipped with basement, moon shaped door, no window, and only two air holes with the height and width not exceeding the ruler. There is a spring in the kitchen. The spring is sweet and clear. It's very convenient to reach out.

Design features

There are seven rooms, each room has at least two doors and three windows, and there are more than six doors in the study and reception hall. That is to say, no matter who stands at any angle of the room, he can easily get away from the room as long as he takes two steps. Even the make-up mirror in his mother's house is a "secret weapon" - using special reflection to observe the whole room in the dark.

Every room has two doors. The door can be opened and the room can be opened. When the door is closed, the wall of the door and the wallboard are perfectly matched. If someone who is not familiar with the inside information breaks into the room and turns around, he will lose his direction and don't know where he is. Moreover, the door between the two adjacent rooms is very low, and there is a dark grid on the door. In case of accident, you can get weapons from the dark grid.

Escape secret Road

The secret escape route of Dai Li's former residence, the dark ladder, is very ingenious, and few people know it. This dark ladder, which was hidden behind the wall cabinets, niches, and cloth curtains, was spiral in shape, allowing only one person to pass through, leading directly to the underground darkroom. A closet between the study and the reception hall on the second floor is actually a secret door. When the side door is opened, there is a secret room where a bodyguard can stand and a revolving staircase where one can walk sideways. When Dai Li is talking with people in his study or reception hall, who can think that the bodyguard is standing behind Dai Li? Usually, when there is no situation, Dai Li receives guests in the room. The bodyguards hide in the dark stairs and watch quietly to protect Dai Li, but the guests don't know. Once in danger, the bodyguard can cover Dai Li from the floor, follow the secret ladder straight down the basement and escape from the village.

This design has two advantages: first, it can save a lot of space; second, it is not easy to be hurt by the pursuit bullets when running away. Dai Li has many worries and is afraid of being assassinated. He can't even sleep in his hometown.

Zhang Shizhao was the elder of the Republic of China. In the early years of the Republic of China, he was the education chief of the Beiyang government.
