Zhaotong Museum

Zhaotong museum is located in the middle section of Zhuti Avenue in the new Northern District of Zhaoyang District, with a total area of 23 mu, a total construction area of 13108m and a total investment of 80 million yuan.

In February 2020, in order to thank the national medical staff for their dedication, the scenic spot implemented the free ticket preferential policy for medical workers and public security police in the national anti epidemic front line from the date of resumption of business to December 31, 2020.

Development history

Zhaotong museum is located in the middle of Zhaotong Avenue in the new Northern District of Zhaoyang District. It was built in 2011 and opened to the public free of charge. It is the only comprehensive museum in Zhaotong City. The Museum covers an area of 3722 square meters, with a building area of 13400 square meters and an exhibition area of 6500 square meters. The appearance of the museum is composed of a grand ship and a simple Han seal, which means carrying history and forging ahead. Zhaotong Museum has more than 16000 cultural relics in various cultural forms. Relying on its long history and drawing on the advanced exhibition experience of domestic museums, the museum has made scene restoration, video projection, animation, etc. in addition to the inherent cultural relic display and picture display by means of science and technology. The exhibition content is rich. Now, six exhibition halls have been elaborately launched for the audience, including ancient footsound, long history, old revolutionary base area, red memory, Zhaotong of the Republic of China, bloody war of resistance against Japan, tuanjieyuan, national style, flying to the future, literary brilliance and talents in large numbers. Adhering to modern management and humanized service, Zhaotong Museum has become an important position for inheriting Zhaotong history, promoting Zhaotong culture and displaying Zhaotong image.

The seven exhibition halls of the residential contrast Hall (living home, time projection) show the historical relics and pictures of Zhaotong from ancient times to the present, and reproduce the evolution process of Zhaotong from ancient times to the present.
