Meizhou Museum
Located in xiaoxichun Hakka Park, Meicheng East District, Meizhou City, with a construction area of 15000 square meters, the appearance is a round Hakka Earth Building, towering and magnificent.
In May 1979, Meizhou City (a county-level city) reopened the museum. The staff and cultural relics in the museum were re divided. The name of the museum is "Meizhou City Museum". The site of the museum is located at the top of Jinshan mountain in Meicheng City, which shares the same site with the library. In 1988, the system of Meixian district was abolished and Meizhou city was established. In March 1991, the library moved to a new site (now Meizhou Jianying Library), and all the original buildings were transferred to the museum. In May of the same year, ye Xuanping, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, inscribed the name of "Meizhou Museum".
Development history
Meizhou museum was founded in August 1959. It is located at No.7, Fudong 2nd Road, Xincheng, Meixian District, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. It shares the same address with Meixian District Library and belongs to Meixian District Bureau of culture, radio, television, press and publication. The museum was originally set up in the "martyr's temple" of Meicheng dongjiaochang (now Meixian stadium of Meizhou City). In June 1962, it was withdrawn, and the staff and the cultural relics were put into the library of Mei County (Jinsheng). In May 1979, Meizhou City (a county-level city) reopened the museum. In 1980, Meixian County planned to build a museum and Library in yueyingtang, West District of Meizhou City (the current address is yinlilai Development Co., Ltd.). In January 1983, because Meixian and Meizhou merged into Meixian City, Meixian Museum and Meizhou Museum merged into "Meixian Museum". The library is located at the top of Jinshan mountain and still shares the same site with the library, with a usable area of only about 180 square meters. In 1988, the organizational system of Meizhou was abolished and Meizhou city was established. In March 1991, the library was relocated to a new site (today's Jianying Library in Meizhou City), and all the original buildings were handed over to the museum for use. In May of the same year, ye Xuanping, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, inscribed the name of the "Meixian Museum".

architectural composition
The main hall is divided into five parts: "where do the guests come from, Hakka customs, landmark enclosed houses, cultural show area, and Hakka take-off", highlighting the five themes, displaying a large number of Hakka dwellings and folk scene models, Hakka costumes, folk objects, production tools, daily necessities, classical furniture, pictures and materials, etc., directly representing the long-standing Hakka traditional folk culture. By means of sound, light, electricity and other modern multimedia exhibition, this paper vividly narrates the difficult course of the five great migrations of Hakkas in history, which fully embodies the Hakka spirit of "hardworking, pioneering, United and enterprising, knowledgeable and reasonable, respecting ancestors and loving the country".
Function value
As the first comprehensive Hakka Museum in Guangdong Province and the largest in China, the Hakka Museum integrates collection and research, exhibition and dissemination, and sightseeing. It is an important symbol of "the Hakka capital of the world, cultural Meizhou" and another bright spot for tourists at home and abroad to experience Hakka culture.
