Taipei, August 17 (Xinhua) 50 mainland single youth and 50 Taiwan single youth gathered at the "lover's Wharf" of Xingda port in Kaohsiung on August 16 to perform the Kaohsiung version of "if you are the one" and compose an unforgettable love song on both sides of the Strait.

This is the finale of the cross strait Qixi hand in hand meeting in 2014. The theme of this year's hand-in-hand meeting is "Taiwan's cultural creation and aboriginal culture". The organizer carefully selected 50 mainland single youths to land in Taiwan on August 13. After visiting Taipei's Palace Museum, Yeliu and other scenic spots and experiencing the eastern Aboriginal customs, they arrived in Kaohsiung on August 17 to meet with 50 Taiwan youths who were waiting for them at the "lover's Wharf".

In the evening, the setting sun of "lover's Wharf" shines. Under the background of romantic music, the young people in mainland China can hear the warm call of the young people in Taiwan from afar. As the young people from mainland China come from afar, the young people in Taiwan have already prepared a warm Buffet, and the young people on both sides of the Strait have made friends with food for the first time.

When night falls, the party begins. A series of interactive games made everyone laugh, "turn five circles, two people embrace each other", "boys put their hands on the shoulders of the goddess". As soon as the game was started, the youth on both sides of the Strait put down their shyness at the beginning and quickly joined in. In the band's song "the moon represents my heart", a big "magic ball of happiness" rolls among the members. Everyone uses the relay way to let the joy flow with the magic ball among the youth on both sides of the Strait.

In 2014, the hand-in-hand meeting focused on the characteristics of the indigenous people, and the youth on both sides of the Taiwan Strait put on the costumes of the indigenous people and danced happily. At the end of the activity, the young people on both sides of the Strait expressed their views to each other, and finally four pairs of young men and women were initially matched successfully.

This hand in hand meeting is jointly sponsored by Fujian Association for foreign cultural exchange, Xiamen Association for foreign exchange, Fujian daily, Taiwan guide, Dongsen Asia News, etc. Since 2002, the cross-strait Qixi Festival has been successfully held for 12 times, with tens of thousands of people taking part in the activities. Tanabata hand in hand has become a brand of cross-strait non-governmental exchanges, and has achieved many good stories of cross-strait youth marriage.
