School history
Inner Mongolia animal husbandry and Veterinary College
In 1952, with the approval of the State Council, the animal husbandry and Veterinary Department of Hebei Agricultural College, Pingyuan Agricultural College and the veterinary specialty of Shanxi Agricultural College merged and moved to Hohhot to establish Inner Mongolia animal husbandry and veterinary college. It was the first undergraduate college in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Comrade Mao Zedong, then chairman of the Central People's government, signed and appointed the first president.
In 1958, the former Inner Mongolia Forestry College was established, which is the first forestry college established by the party and the state in minority areas to meet the needs of Inner Mongolia as a national forestry production base.
In 1959, Inner Mongolia Hohhot agricultural school, Inner Mongolia agricultural cadre college and Inner Mongolia animal husbandry cadre cooperation college were merged into Inner Mongolia animal husbandry and veterinary college.
Inner Mongolia College of agriculture and animal husbandry
In 1960, Inner Mongolia animal husbandry and veterinary college was renamed Inner Mongolia agriculture and Animal Husbandry College.
In 1958, with the approval of Inner Mongolia Party committee, the water conservancy department of the school was transferred to Inner Mongolia water conservancy school, and Inner Mongolia Water Conservancy and Electric Power College was established.
In 1962, the water conservancy department of Inner Mongolia University of water conservancy and electric power was incorporated into Inner Mongolia University of agriculture and animal husbandry.
In 1963, Inner Mongolia University of agriculture and animal husbandry was listed as a key agricultural university in North China and became the first university in Inner Mongolia to recruit foreign students and graduate students.
In 1971, the Revolutionary Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region decided to abolish Inner Mongolia Forestry College and merge it into Inner Mongolia agriculture and Animal Husbandry College.
In 1978, the Party committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region decided to resume Inner Mongolia Forestry College. Since then, the two schools have entered their respective recovery, development and revitalization period.
In 1981, Inner Mongolia University of agriculture and animal husbandry became one of the first batch of universities with the right to confer master's degree in China.
In 1983, approved by the Party committee and government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, it was listed as a key university in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
In 1985, Inner Mongolia agriculture and animal husbandry cadre school was incorporated into Inner Mongolia agriculture and Animal Husbandry College.
In 1993, with the approval of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council, Inner Mongolia University of agriculture and animal husbandry became the second University in Inner Mongolia with the right to confer doctoral degrees.
In 1999, it was selected into the first batch of national college students' cultural quality education bases.
Inner Mongolia Agricultural University
In 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of education, Inner Mongolia College of agriculture and animal husbandry and Inner Mongolia Forestry College were abolished and merged to form Inner Mongolia Agricultural University.
In 2000, the University became the first university in Inner Mongolia with the right to confer first-class discipline doctorate.
In 2001, the University was identified as the key university to support the construction of "one province, one university" in China's western development.
In 2010, it was selected into the national characteristic key discipline project "construction university".
At the end of 2011, he was selected into the public postgraduate program of national construction high level university.
In 2012, the government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and the State Forestry Administration signed an agreement on the co construction of Inner Mongolia Agricultural University, which officially entered the ranks of provincial (bureau) co construction, and is a key university of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.
In 2012, the University was selected into the "Midwest university basic ability construction project".
In 2013, it entered the ranks of institutions supported by the national "Midwest higher education revitalization plan".
In 2015, the school's "collaborative innovation and cultivation center for green livestock products processing" and "collaborative innovation and cultivation center for healthy development of modern horse industry" were approved by the Education Department of the autonomous region.
