Lingyan mountain

In Lingyan mountain scenic area, the buildings, pavilions and pavilions are built according to the mountain situation, the nine curve corridor is walking along the terrain, the clear pool is trickling, and the bank is winding. It is a famous tourist attraction in Wuzhong.

The most important thing to climb lingyanshan is lingyanshan temple. It is said that the former site of guanwa palace, built for Xishi by Fu Chai, king of Wu, is in the main hall of the temple. The lingyanshan Pagoda in the temple is the symbol of lingyanshan. There are many pagodas and buildings in the Song Dynasty. The winding and interesting mountain path passes through Jilu Pavilion, yingxiao Pavilion, Luohong Pavilion and stone buildings. There is Guanyin cave in the middle of the mountain, commonly known as Xishi cave. There are different shapes of stones on the mountain; there is a piano platform on the top of the mountain.

Lingyan mountain

Lingyan mountain is located in the southeast of Liuhe District, Nanjing City, with an altitude of 170 meters and a circumference of 19 Li. It is named after "there are no sharp peaks in the mountain, towering rocks on all sides, and there are always Lingrui between the rocks". It has been known as "the first famous mountain in Liuhe" since ancient times.

Lingyan mountain is the main producing area of Yuhuashi. There are many places of interest on the mountain. Lingyan temple, Yanyue cliff, Xianren cave, lubaoquan, bailongchi and other natural landscapes are not only unique, but also have moving legends among the people. "Lingyan snow" is one of the six in eight scenic spots.

Lingyan temple is built on the hillside of Lingyan mountain, so it is also known as "Banshan Temple". According to the records of Liuhe County annals, "in Xiantong of Tang Dynasty, Shenjian Zen master received the Dharma from the fourth ancestor, and there was a saying that he would stop when he met the rock, so he built a Taoist temple under the rock, which was called Fayi Zen Academy.". So far, the temple has a history of more than 1140 years since the Tang Dynasty. With a long history and once respected as a royal temple, Lingyan temple has always maintained a great influence in the Buddhist circle; many scholars are not reluctant to praise, leaving many poems.

Construction scale

Lingyan Temple experienced a lot of vicissitudes, and prospered and declined; "in the eighth year of Xianfeng, the temple was destroyed by thieves, and the tower collapsed, so it was in urgent need of repair"; during the Anti Japanese War, the temple was finally destroyed by Japanese artillery fire. Until May 2002, the original Liuhe County was removed from the county and built into a district. In order to build a good situation of religious harmony and social harmony and meet the requirements of the majority of Buddhist believers, the people's Government of Liuhe District decided to rebuild Lingyan temple at the original site.

At the beginning of 2003, the restoration project of Lingyan temple was officially launched; on November 9, 2006, the opening ceremony of the statue of Guanyin was held; by September 2008, the main building and landscape project had been completed, including Guanyin Pavilion, Daxiong hall, bell tower, Drum Tower, Mountain Gate, wall, Abbot's house and well Pavilion. The temple covers an area of about 3000 square meters and a building area of about 2000 square meters. The statues in the main hall of Lingyan temple are being gilded and will be opened in November 2008.

The statue of Guanyin in Lingyan temple has three sides, which can be called the largest one in Jiangbei. The statue is divided into two parts, one is lotus seat, and the other is Avalokitesvara. The lotus seat is 6.19 meters long and 2.19 meters wide. The net height of the statue is 9.19 meters, and the total height of the statue is 11.38 meters. On the three sides of Guanyin, the front is Guanyin holding Buddha beads, representing Ruyi and auspiciousness; on the south side is Guanyin holding a baby, known as sending a child Guanyin; on the north side is Guanyin holding a pure bottle, wishing the world peace forever.

There is a well pavilion built before the Liaofang of Lingyan temple. The ancient well was built in the Tang Dynasty. It is full of love in the prosperous Tang Dynasty and has been built ever since. In front of the gate of the temple, there is a bamboo grove, which is a piece of bamboo. Where the wind passes, the sound of bamboo is very pleasant. The Shinto is hidden in the forest, which leads to the stone memorial archway at the foot of the mountain according to the mountain situation and the sacred beast. Standing here, you can see from afar that the ancient trees around Lingyan temple are towering and majestic, which reproduces the state described in the ancient poem that "several miles into the River Road, thousands of peaks towards the temple gate, where you can feel comfortable, and Zhong Xin is in a daze".

According to Liuhe County annals, as an extension of Lingyan temple, there was a seven level floating Tu on the top of Lingyan mountain. The reason is that the ancients believed in Fengshui and believed that the reason why Liuhe had few talents in the imperial examination was that there was no sharp edge at the top of Lingyan mountain. Therefore, a tower was built on the top of Lingyan mountain, named Wenfeng tower. That is to say, Liuhe expected more talents. Unfortunately, the tower collapsed in May 1901 due to disrepair. The relevant departments of Liuhe are actively starting to rebuild the tower.

Other attractions

Ancient Ginkgo biloba: in Lingyan temple, there is a thousand year old Ginkgo biloba. Although it has passed thousands of years, it is luxuriant and has no sense of vicissitudes. Although there are traces of thunder above the root, the color is black, but it does not affect its growth. In Nanjing, almost all of the Millennium ginkgo trees have red wish ribbons. Here is no exception. Men and women with good wishes let the ancient trees witness their love.

Vineyard: there are large forest farms in Lingyan mountain, including peach garden, pear garden and vineyard. Peaches and pears are out of the market, but grapes are still available. The vineyard is at the foot of the mountain, about 100 mu, mainly including MeirenZhi, zuijianxiang and Xiahei. After visiting Lingyan mountain, you can pick grapes to eat.

Pecan base: Liuhe Xiongzhou vigorously develops green agricultural economy. There are flower and seedling bases, more than 2000 mu vegetable bases, and 500 mu pecan base at the foot of Lingyan mountain. In October, it's the mature season for pecan. If you want to taste the local Pecan in Nanjing, you don't have to go all the way to Zhejiang to buy it.

Qiancang Village Museum of history: at the foot of Lingyan mountain, 5 minutes from Xiongzhou street, there is a qiancang Village Museum of history. Why is it worth seeing? This is because it is the first historical archives built by the village headquarters in Nanjing. There is a former dressing box with the words "long live the people's commune" printed on it. There are also old food stamps, cloth stamps, and the measuring bucket used to measure rice.
