Nanning Bridge
Nanning Bridge is a river crossing passage connecting Qingxiu district and Liangqing District in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China. It is located on the Yongjiang river. It is the main passage for the southeast area of Nanning city to enter the central area of Nanning city and the fast loop road. It is the world's first large-span curved beam asymmetric cambered arch bridge.
Nanning Bridge started construction in December 2004;
The closure of the main bridge was completed in November 2008;
It was officially completed and opened to traffic on September 21, 2009.
Nanning Bridge starts from Qingshan road in the north, crosses Yongjiang waterway in the top, and connects Pingle Avenue in the south;

Construction process
In 2003, Nanning Municipal People's government determined the relevant matters of Nanning Bridge construction.
In November 2004, the construction team of Nanning Bridge entered the site;
On December 15, Nanning City Investment Co., Ltd. and Nanning Guoyan Technology Investment Co., Ltd. jointly held a meeting on the commencement of Nanning Bridge project;
On December 16, the construction of Nanning Bridge started.
In January 2007, the construction scheme for the main bridge of Nanning Bridge was approved by the expert group headed by academician fan Lichu; on October 13, the universal member beam of the combined cable tower on the North Bank of Nanning Bridge was closed; on November 18, the cable tower of Nanning Bridge was successfully capped.
On November 24, 2008, the steel box arch of the main bridge of Nanning Bridge was closed, marking the successful completion of the lifting of the steel box arch of the bridge and the full start of the deck lifting.
On February 28, 2009, the steel box girder of Nanning Bridge was successfully closed;
On September 21, Nanning Bridge was opened to traffic.
On March 27, 2018, Nanning Bridge began the construction of full closed maintenance; on May 29, Nanning Bridge completed the laying of modified asphalt surface course of the whole bridge; on May 31, Nanning Bridge resumed operation.

Nanning Bridge is located in Nanning City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China, connecting Qingxiu district and Liangqing district. It is 1.7 km away from Wuxiang bridge in the West and 4.9 km away from Liangqing bridge in the East. It is close to Qingxiu mountain scenic spot, Qingshan road in Qingxiu District in the north, the intersection of Libin Avenue and Qinghuan Road, Yongjiang river course and Longdi road in the south, and Pingle Avenue in Wuxiang New District in the south.

Nanning Bridge is composed of main bridge on water, arch rib, sling, approach bridge on both banks and interchange ramp. The section of main bridge is arranged from south to north.
Design concept
Nanning Bridge is a single tower bridge, which adopts the asymmetric cambered arch bridge with curved beam. The rib arches on both sides incline outwards with different inclination angles, which conforms to the linear design requirements of curved beam. The transverse brace between two arch ribs is cancelled, and the arch rib is balanced by its own stiffness and inclined roadway suspender. From the appearance, the suspender looks like two butted harps. The axis of arch ribs on both sides is composed of catenary, circular curve and straight line, which conforms to the arch axis. From a distance, the backbone of the bridge looks like a rainbow with elegant radian, which is bright in the sunlight. From above, the bridge looks like a butterfly spreading its wings; and the suspender connecting the vault and the bridge surface looks like a waterfall flowing down from the rainbow, which is very beautiful.

Construction problems
Due to the unique design of Nanning Bridge, the steel box arch of the bridge is inclined outwards, and all four sides of the box arch become inclined planes, so the construction personnel can not stand on it. Moreover, the steel box arch is suspended in the air 80 meters above the Yongjiang river. At that time, there was no maintenance equipment that could be referenced or utilized in the world, so the maintenance of the steel box arch is very difficult. Therefore, we can only tackle the key problems through information technology The problem can be solved by the combination of walking track, electric control turntable, climbing chain and hydraulic boom.
