Historical evolution
Binyang paolong temple is located in Zhonghe street, Binzhou Town, Binyang County, with a history of more than 400 years. The temple, formerly known as Sanhuang temple, was rebuilt in the 13th year of the reign of Emperor Guangxu. There are statues of Huangdi, Shennong and Fuxi. For various reasons, the antique temple has changed from more than 2000 square meters to a brick building with only 200 square meters left. Every year on the 11th night of the first lunar month, cannon dragons dance in the city of Pennsylvania. Because of its long history, the Sanhuang temple has a sacred position in the eyes of the people. Therefore, for hundreds of years, cannon dragons from seven or eight streets in the old Southern District of Pennsylvania have gathered in the temple to "open up", and the number has increased from seven or eight to more than 20. Therefore, thousands of people are attracted to watch "Kaiguang" every year, and all kinds of media are also here to capture the grand event of "Kaiguang". Because the narrow old temple is difficult to accommodate a large team of Kaiguang and many journalists and tourists. In order to carry forward the paolong culture, develop tourism and solve the potential safety problems of the old paolong Temple due to its narrow and crowded area, in 2007, the folk paolong Art Association of Binyang County took the lead in mobilizing the public to raise money to start the reconstruction of the old temple. The temple officially started construction on November 17, 2007, and was completed on October 30, 2008. The Sanhuang temple is known as the old paolong temple for its numerous paolong gathering. In 2008, after the reconstruction of Kaiguang, the plaque of "paolong old temple" was hung for the first time, becoming a symbolic building and landmark of Binyang paolong culture. The temple is a steel-concrete structure, three stories high, with an area of 630 square meters. The square in front of the temple covers an area of more than 1500 square meters, with a total cost of more than 1.72 million yuan. In 2009, it became the "inheritance and protection base of intangible cultural heritage in Binyang County".
Paolong temple is a cultural project, a tourism project, and a popular project, which has received strong support from all walks of life, including loving and powerful enterprises inside and outside the county. These enterprises donated more than 900000 yuan to the old paolong temple. People inside and outside the county donated more than 10000 people to the old paolong temple, with an amount of more than 820000 yuan.
