Suzhou Pingtan Museum

·Suzhou Pingtan Museum has more than 12000 pieces of precious historical materials and hundreds of scripts of Pingtan. The exhibition is mainly based on historical materials, audio-visual materials, combined with modern scientific and technological means to restore and display the characteristics of Suzhou Pingtan masters, schools and artistic performances.

Suzhou Pingtan museum is located in zhangjiaxiang, Pingjiang Road, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, with a construction area of 839 square meters. There are more than 12000 pieces of precious historical materials and hundreds of scripts of Pingtan. It is worth mentioning that Ms. Yu Ruomu, wife of Chen Yun, the proletarian revolutionist of the older generation, donated more than 560 pieces of Pingtan audio-visual materials collected before Chen Yun's death, which laid a good foundation for the establishment of Pingtan Museum.

The hall is divided into three parts: the entrance hall gives a general introduction to Pingtan and its visiting routes; the second entrance hall sets up a bookstore in the form of Qing Dynasty and regularly performs Pingtan bibliography; the third entrance hall introduces the development history of Pingtan, famous Pingtan artists of various generations, literature and history materials, etc.

The design concept of the museum is to be close to the public and enjoy both refined and popular tastes. While focusing on the full picture of Pingtan's historical development and the performance characteristics of famous schools, it also uses high-tech means to reflect the historical performance scenes and industry customs of Pingtan art. It forms an artistic contrast with the elegant style of its neighbor and China Kunqu museum to show the two aspects of Chinese traditional culture.

Visit information

Visiting time: 9:00-12:00, 15:30-17:00,

Pingtan performance time: 12:00-15:30. During the performance period, visitors will be suspended from visiting the museum. After the performance, the visit will continue as usual.

Admission information: free visit. For Pingtan performance, the ordinary seat is 20 yuan (including Longjing cup), and the number one seat is 30 yuan (including Biluochun cup). For Suzhou Hukou and those who hold tickets for the last performance of any bookstore in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai, the ordinary seat is 6 yuan, and the number one seat is 7 yuan.
