In the 1990s, the greening Department planted Robinia pseudoacacia on both sides of Guanqian Street. By 2011, the thickest diameter of Robinia pseudoacacia on both sides was more than 20 cm. However, due to the long age of trees, many Robinia pseudoacacia suffered from diseases and insect pests, most of them died, and the ornamental effect of the remaining trees was not good. According to the plan of replanting trees on both sides of main roads in Kaifeng City, more than 60 Sophora japonica trees in Guanqian Street need to be replanted. For some small Sophora japonica trees which are replanted in the later stage and are short in age, the greening department will transplant them carefully and choose "new home" for them. However, for some locust trees suffering from serious diseases and insect pests or dead, the greening department can only bear to cut them down. Some enthusiastic citizens reported to the media that dozens of Sophora japonica trees on the south side of Guanqian Street had been cut down, which is heartbreaking. I hope the media will pay attention to this matter.

In January 2012, the afforestation team of Kaifeng City completed the replanting of 76 Liriodendron trees, replacing the original cut Sophora japonica. Liriodendron, a scientific name of Liriodendron, has beautiful tree shape and beautiful leaves. It is named because the leaves are like yellow Liriodendron.
