Hemu Village

Hemu village is a village under the jurisdiction of burjin County in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Located on the Bank of Kanas Lake in burjin County, Xinjiang, it is the concentrated living place of Tuwa people. It is the farthest and largest village among the three remaining Tuwa villages (Hemu village, Kanas village and baihaba Village), with a total area of 3040 square kilometers.

Opening Hours

60 yuan, 100 yuan from Hemu ticket station to Hemu Village (only 2 times, not unlimited times); 200 yuan from Kanas jiadengyu ticket station to Hemu village; 200 yuan per person for Hemu river rafting.

If you are riding, you don't need to buy interval tickets. If you want to take the shuttle bus on the return journey, it will cost 60 yuan

What attracts people's attention most in Hemu village is that small wooden houses and herds in groups form a unique natural and cultural landscape with snow peaks, forests, grasslands, blue sky and white clouds.

These small wooden houses have become the symbols of the Tuwa people. Most of them are cut and buried in the soil to resist the severe cold during the snow mountain closure period for nearly half a year. They are especially primitive and simple, and have the traditional characteristics of nomads. The roof of the house is generally nailed to a herringbone awning with wooden boards. The house is made of single-layer logs with a diameter of 30-40 cm, which is both warm and moisture-proof.

The most beautiful autumn color in Kanas region is the grass and trees. The layers of forest are colorful. It is a typical primitive natural ecological scenery.
