Brazil conference site

The former Brazilian conference site is located in Brazil Township, Zoige County, 33km away from the county seat. This is a site hidden in the forest on the grassland. The original appearance is a quadrangle temple, which was built in the 18th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (1679 AD). Now there are only a few ruins left, and a new temple has been built nearby. When the Red Army crossed the grassland in 1935, the Party Central Committee held five important meetings here. Brazil conference site

The former site of Brazil conference, formerly known as Banyou temple, is located in Baxi township (Songpan County before 1956) of Zoige county at the southeast junction of Aba Prefecture and Gansu Province. It is a semi farming and semi pastoral Tibetan community near the edge of grassland, 32 km east of Zoige county. The main hall is 27.70 meters wide in the West and 33.7 meters deep; the back hall is 14.50 meters wide and 6.22 meters deep, with a "convex" shape. The wall of the hall is rammed with loess slabs, with a width at the bottom and a width at the top. The wall base is 1.40 meters thick and the residual height is 8.92 meters.

In December 2016, the former site of the Brazil conference was selected into the national list of red tourist attractions.

Introduction to scenic spots

The temple block south to north, close to the Brazil River, surrounded by mountains, dense forest. It was first built in the 18th year of Kangxi reign of Qing Dynasty. The original layout is quadrangle. The mountain gate is of double eaves and Xieshan roof structure. The main hall (Daxiong Hall) is a Tibetan flat roof building with wooden beams and columns and rammed earth walls. On September 9, 1935, the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee held the famous "Brazil conference" in the main hall of Banyou temple in response to Zhang Guotao's Right opportunism. The meeting criticized Zhang Guotao's mistake and decided that the Central Red Army would continue to go north. After the meeting of the Political Bureau, Mao Zedong and other central leaders held a meeting of some commanders and fighters of the column directly under the Central Committee and the cadre regiment in front of the main hall of the temple that night. Mao Zedong pointed out at the meeting: it is correct for the Party Central Committee to adhere to the line of going north, and there is no way out to go south. The great historical significance of the Brazil meeting is just like Mao Zedong's "the Communist Party of China in the people's Republic of China" The article "the status of the Red Army in the ethnic war" points out: "because the Brazilian conference and the Yan'an conference opposed Zhang Guotao's Right opportunism, all the red army joined together and the whole Party became more united. To carry out a heroic struggle against Japan. ". In 1978, the people's Government of Sichuan Province listed the Brazilian conference site as a provincial cultural relic protection unit.
