Historical evolution

At the beginning of the school

Henan University was founded in 1902 (< I) during the exchange between the president of Henan Agricultural University and Taiwan scholars in early April 2011, the relevant certificate can be obtained by checking the archives of Taiwan. It was established in 1912 at the beginning of the Republic of China and changed to set up agricultural specialized schools to train agricultural professionals. Zhang Zhenfang, the governor of Henan Province, petitioned the Ministry of education of the Republic of China to request that Henan higher education be transformed into a public agricultural specialized school in Henan. The message was delivered to the Ministry of education of the Republic of China in October of the first year, and signed by fan Yuanlian, the Director General of education of the Republic of China, Dong Hongyi, the deputy director general of education of the Republic of China in November of the first year. With the support of the provincial council at that time and with the approval of the provincial governor's office, Wu Su, an expert in agriculture and forestry, was specially assigned to study in the Forestry Department of Imperial University of Tokyo, Japan, to prepare for the establishment of Henan public agricultural special school.

In 1913, Henan public agricultural school began to recruit students. Recruit preparatory students, agriculture and forestry each class, each class 80 people, a total of 160 people. In 1913, 60 students of silkworm science were recruited and enrolled in January 1914. There are three classes of agriculture, forestry and sericulture, with 60 students in each class.

In June 1927, general Feng Yuxiang was the chairman of Henan Province. Under the proposal of the members of Kaifeng political branch of the Central Committee of the Kuomintang and the unanimous request of Henan educators, he rebuilt the "National Sun Yat sen University". The Henan provincial government decided to transform Henan public agricultural school, Zhongzhou University (in November 1922, Henan preparatory school for studying in Europe and America was renamed Zhongzhou University) and Henan Public University The legislative and political school was merged into the Fifth National Sun Yat sen University (now Henan University).

In July 1927, national Kaifeng Sun Yat sen University was established. Later, it was renamed as Sun Yat sen University in Kaifeng, Henan Province.

the period of the war of Resistance Against Japan

In September 1930, Sun Yat sen University in Kaifeng, Henan Province, was renamed Henan University. In the same year, the first agricultural school in Henan Province was merged. During the Anti Japanese War, Henan University successively traveled to Xinyang, Nanyang, Luoyang, Xi'an, Baoji, Suzhou and other places in Henan Province. Although books, materials and instruments suffered heavy losses, it still kept running.

In June 1938, the animal husbandry department of the Agricultural College of Henan University was merged into the national agricultural and Forestry College of Shaanxi Wugong to establish the national Northwest Agricultural College.

In March 1942, Henan provincial university was changed into national Henan University.

During the summer vacation of 1948, the Ministry of education of Nanjing government ordered Henan University to move south to Suzhou, and the Agricultural College rented the Shizilin backyard in the city as a student dormitory.

Adjustment of colleges and departments

In July 1949, the colleges of Henan University returned to Kaifeng. In August 1952, the Department of agriculture of Henan University was transformed into Henan Agricultural University.

In September 1952, the animal husbandry and Veterinary Department of Henan Agricultural College was merged into Jiangxi Agricultural College, and the plant protection department was merged into Huazhong Agricultural College. In the same year, Pingyuan agricultural college was merged into Henan Agricultural College with 16 students.

In February 1957, Henan Agricultural University moved to Zhengzhou.

In October 1959, Yanshi wheat school was incorporated into Henan Agricultural College.

In 1960, Zhengzhou agricultural mechanization college was merged into Henan Agricultural College to establish agricultural mechanization branch.

In August 1971, Henan Agricultural University was forced to move to Xuchang. In November 1971, the Department of grain and oil industry of Zhengzhou grain college was incorporated into Henan Agricultural College.

In July 1973, the Department of grain and oil industry was transferred to Henan Agricultural University. Zhengzhou grain college was established and restored.

In March 1975, Henan Agricultural College was renamed Xuchang agricultural college.

In April 1977, the University restored the name of "Henan Agricultural University" and gradually returned to Zhengzhou.

In December 1984, the University changed its name to "Henan Agricultural University".

In 1993, the school motto of "unity, diligence, preciseness and realism" was established during the 80th anniversary of the school.

Development

In 1996, with the approval of the Ministry of science and technology, the University established the National Wheat Engineering Technology Research Center.

In 2000, He'nan Agricultural University was awarded a first-class discipline doctorate, becoming the first university in Henan Province to obtain a first-class discipline doctorate.

In 2002, He'nan Agricultural University was awarded excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation by the Ministry of education, and became the first excellent undergraduate university in Henan Province.

In 2003, it approved two mobile stations for postdoctoral research to become a multi-level university with the right to grant undergraduate Master Doctor postdoctoral research.

In 2006, the new school motto of "self-improvement and truth-seeking" was launched.

In August 2007, "crop science" discipline of Henan Agricultural University was selected as a first-class national key discipline, becoming the first first first-class national key discipline in Henan Province and the only first-class national key discipline of Agronomy in provincial universities in China

In June 2008, Henan Agricultural University won the excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation of the Ministry of education, and became the only undergraduate university in Henan province that won the excellent undergraduate teaching evaluation twice in a row.

On September 29, 2009, the Secretary of Henan provincial Party committee and the governor of Henan Province jointly attended the foundation laying ceremony of Longzihu new campus in Zhengdong New District of Henan Agricultural University, and the construction of the new campus of Henan Agricultural University, a key construction project of Henan Province, was started. In the same month, the approval results of the seventh batch of postdoctoral mobile stations were released, and three new postdoctoral research mobile stations of "forestry, animal husbandry, and agricultural and forestry economic management" were added So far, there are six mobile stations for postdoctoral research. On November 10, the signing ceremony of the agreement between Henan provincial government and the Ministry of agriculture on the co construction of Henan Agricultural University was held in Zhengzhou, marking that Henan Agricultural University has officially entered the ranks of provincial and ministry co construction, and has become the first pilot project of provincial and ministry co construction of provincial Agricultural University in China. On December 18, the State Administration of tobacco and Henan Agricultural University signed the framework agreement on strategic cooperation between China National Tobacco Corporation and Henan Agricultural University.

In September 2010, the cultivation base of the State Key Laboratory of grain crop physiology, biochemistry and genetic improvement jointly built by the Ministry and the province was approved to be established. In the same year, it was selected as the national "characteristic key discipline project" construction university.

On January 14, 2011, at the national science and technology award conference held in Beijing, Henan Agricultural University, as the first unit to complete two projects, both won the second prize of national science and technology progress award, ranking first in the province and 16th in the country. So far, Henan Agricultural University has won four national science and technology awards in three years.

In May 2011, it was rated as "National Graduate Employment typical experience university" by the Ministry of education.

At the end of 2011, the University was selected into the national construction of high-level university public postgraduate program.

In April 2012, Henan Agricultural University established wushao corn Research Institute. On July 6, Henan Agricultural University held a meeting to celebrate the 100th anniversary of higher agricultural education. In August, Henan Agricultural University passed the "acceptance" of the national development and Reform Commission and other departments, and was officially selected as the first phase of the infrastructure construction project of universities in central and Western China. In April 2013, the Ministry of Education announced the list of the first batch of universities selected in the "2011 plan". Henan Agricultural University, as the leading university in the "2011 plan", participated in the "Henan food crop Collaborative Innovation Center" and became the first batch of 14 collaborative innovation centers.

In July 2017, it was recognized by the Ministry of education as "the second batch of national model universities for deepening innovation and entrepreneurship education reform".

In August 2019, it was rated as "national innovation and entrepreneurship typical experience university" by the Ministry of education.
