Jiyang District, belonging to Sanya City, Hainan Province, is located in the east of Sanya City, between 109 ° 31 ′～ 109 ° 48 ′ E and 18 ° 14 ′～ 18 ° 37 ′ n. The total area is 372 square kilometers.

Jiyang district has a tropical marine monsoon climate with an average annual rainfall of 1417mm and an average annual temperature of 25.4 ℃. In 2017, the standard rate of good air days was 98.6%.

The origin of the predecessor

Hedong District

Before Tang Dynasty, Hedong District was governed by Linchuan county;

The late Qing Dynasty belongs to linchuanli;

During the period of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the second district;

After liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of Yuya Town, torpedo people's Commune and Sanya town;

In July 1985, Hedong sub District Office (section level) was established;

In May 1988, it was changed to Hedong District Management Committee (department level), which is the agency of the municipal Party committee and municipal government.

 

Jiyang town

Tiandu town

It was under the jurisdiction of linchuanli in the Qing Dynasty and linchuanxiang in the Republic of China;

In 1950, it was under the jurisdiction of Yuya town and Yuhong town respectively;

After the land reform in 1953, five small townships were set up in Tiandu area, under the jurisdiction of six districts;

Six districts were abolished in the first half of 1955;

In 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged;

The people's commune was established in 1958;

In 1983, it was changed into Tiandu district;

It was changed to Tiandu town in 1986.

 

Lizhigou town

Before liberation, lichigou was under the jurisdiction of Wuya township;

It was liberated in 1950 and established in May of the same year, under the jurisdiction of the two districts;

When the people's commune was established in 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of torpedo commune;

In May 1961, lizhigou was separated from it and established lizhigou commune;

In March 1983, it was changed to lizhigou district office;

In July 1985, lizhigou town was established.

 

Hongsha town

Hongsha in Qing Dynasty belongs to linchuanli yulinpu;

During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the second East District (the second cliff District);

It was liberated in April 1950 and established at the end of the same year;

In 1958, when the commune was established, it was under the jurisdiction of torpedo commune, and Hongsha was called brigade;

In July 1959, the torpedo commune was abolished and Yulin commune was established;

In 1963, Hongsha local state farm was established in Yaxian County, and the farm Department was located in Hongsha market;

In 1967, the farm was abolished and Hongsha commune was established;

In 1983, it was changed into red sand area;

In 1986, it was changed into Hongsha town.

 

In August 2001, Tiandu Town, lizhigou town and Hongsha town merged into xintiandu town.

 

In January 2011, Tiandu town was renamed Jiyang town.

The former Hedong District, Jiyang town and Yalongwan management committee were abolished and Jiyang district was established.

 

On September 22, 2014, the preparatory group of Jiyang District of Sanya City was established, and entered the substantive stage of "withdrawing towns into districts".

On October 23, 2014, the 25th meeting of the Standing Committee of Sanya Municipal People's Congress decided to establish the preparatory groups for the first people's Congress of Jiyang District, Haitang District, Tianya district and Yazhou District of Sanya City, respectively, to be responsible for the preparation of relevant matters for the first people's Congress of each district.

On January 2, 2015, Jiyang District of Sanya City held the inaugural meeting and unveiling ceremony, and Jiyang district Party committee, District People's Congress and district government were officially established.

The distribution of rainfall is even in the dry and wet seasons. The average annual rainfall is 1100-1695mm. The rainy season is from April to October, accounting for 90% of the annual rainfall, and the dry season is from November to march of the next year. The average number of tropical storms or typhoons is 1-2 per year.

 

The annual sunshine is 2539 hours, and the annual average evaporation is 2344 mm. It belongs to semi humid and semi-arid area. It has the characteristics of no severe cold in winter, no severe heat in summer, no winter in long summer, continuous autumn and spring, sufficient sunshine, large evaporation, half dry and wet, sudden rain, cool drought, frequent typhoon, torrential rain and strong wind.

iron ore

Tiandu iron deposit, located in the northwest foothills of Huangniling, Tiandu village, Jiyang District, Sanya City, is a medium-sized iron deposit. The ore is mainly magnetite, followed by hematite. The main ore body is 66 ~ 195 meters long and 17 meters thick. The main body has been mined out, and there are still residual ore bodies in the deep, with reserves of about 900000 tons. The secondary orebody is a blind orebody, which is located on the side of the main orebody, with a buried depth of 22 meters, east-west strike, North dip angle of 70 degrees, length of 63 meters, maximum vertical thickness of 76 meters, extension of 172 meters, and reserves of 400000 tons. The ore in this mining area has high grade, low impurity, good quality and 53 ~ 58% iron content. It has been basically finished in the 1960s.

It is located in Damao phosphate ore district, Jiyang District, Sanya City, with a reserve of 1 million tons. The ore body is generally 100-200 meters long, with a maximum of 900 meters, a general thickness of 1.5 meters, a grade of 25.18%, and a maximum of 45.96%, with less dye content.

 

Phosphate rock

Zhongliao management area, located in Jiyang District, Sanya City, is the only medium-sized phosphate rock in Hainan Province, with reserves of C-D grade of 9.295 million tons and average phosphorus pentoxide content of 9.94 ~ 17.60%. There are 13 layers of phosphate rock in the mining area, of which 3 layers have industrial value, accounting for more than 93% of the total reserves. The main ore bed is distributed in zhongdeling block, with a length of 600 ~ 1400 meters, an extension of 115 ~ 400 meters, a thickness of 2.5 meters and a phosphorus grade of 13.1 ~ 17.66%. In 1972, the apatite type phosphate rock, which is easy to be beneficiated, was mined and used by Haikou chemical fertilizer plant.

 

Biological resources

The forest area of Jiyang district is 310000 mu, with a coverage rate of 71%. There are six nature reserves in the territory, including Daya Dadonghai Huoling macaque reserve and Sanya liudao comprehensive ecological reserve.
