Wenhua Academy
In 1871, the Anglican Church of the United States founded Boone Memorial School in Tanhualin, Wuchang City, Hubei Province. Together with Bowen college, which was founded by the British Methodist Church in Wuchang in 1885, and the erudite college, which was founded by the London society in Hankou, they are known as the three major missionary schools in Wuhan.
In 1890, a senior high school was set up to become a six-year complete middle school. Since he became president in 1901, it has developed rapidly. In 1903, the University Department of Wenhua college was established, which is the beginning of the history of central China Normal University. On May 18, 1909, the college was registered in the District of Columbia, and officially obtained the University qualification. The name of the college is Wenhua University.
On January 15, 1911, the first public defense of graduation thesis was held. On January 16, the first sermon was held in Wenhua church. In February 1922, representatives of the Anglican Church of America, the American restoration society, the American Ashley society, the London society of England, and the Methodist Church of England were invited to a meeting at bishop Wu Deshi's residence in Hankou and decided to open a United University in Wuchang. In 1938, Ju school moved to the West. On July 10, he left Wuchang for five days by boat and arrived in Changsha on July 15; on July 22, he left Changsha by train, passed Hengyang, Dong'an and Quanzhou, and then arrived in Guilin by car. It lasted more than a month, with a journey of more than a thousand li. In late September, the school opened in Guilin. The Japanese bombed frequently, so it was difficult to ensure the safety of teachers and students. The temporary Executive Committee of the university decided to move again.
On February 20, 1939, the teachers and students left Guilin by car, passed through Liangfeng, Lipu, Liuzhou, Datang, Nanning, left the country to Annan, Dongtang, Liangshan, and arrived in Hanoi. Then they set foot on the Yunnan Vietnam highway and arrived in Kunming on the afternoon of the 27th. On March 16, he left Kunming by car and turned to Xizhou.
