Architecture Overview
With the rapid development of socialist construction, the people of Zhangjiajie cherish the memory of the revolutionary martyrs who have been sleeping in Jiuquan. They have made great contributions to the history of the Qing Dynasty for the martyrs, and have shown their heroic demeanor to the later generations. The people of Zhangjiajie have been drinking water and thinking about the source, and they have issued a common voice for the construction of martyrs' cemetery. The former CPC Dayong County Committee and people's Government complied with the requirements of Dayong people and made the decision to build Zhangjiajie martyrs memorial tower in 1985. More than 200 mu of forest land for martyrs cemetery in Huilongguan city was selected. Under the leadership of the former county Party committee and the county government, the county people and the higher authorities paid attention to and cared for it. In the case of lack of funds, the cadres, the people and students voluntarily donated 38000 yuan, the local finance raised 100000 yuan, the provincial Civil Affairs investment 120000 yuan, and the County Civil Affairs Bureau raised 60000 yuan. It was planned by the County Construction Committee and approved by the relevant departments before the memorial tower was laid on March 3, 1985 The tower was completed in October. Martyrs memorial tower is located at the top of the Cemetery Hill, 23 meters high, dignified and straight. On the front of the monument is the inscription "monument of revolutionary martyrs" by Liao Hansheng, former vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress. On the back is a copy of Chairman Mao Zedong's inscription "die for the people, die proud". The front of the tower is engraved with the inscription of its martyr. Other three reliefs include the jigongya campaign, the people's welcome to the city and the construction of new Dayong by workers, peasants and soldiers. In the north of the memorial tower, there is a hexagonal Memorial Pavilion, in which there are 1662 martyrs' names inscribed on a stone tablet. In the southeast of the memorial tower, the memorial Pavilion of the martyrs' Mausoleum shows the monument of merit and virtue that helped the construction of the mausoleum. On the right side of the cemetery is the collective cemetery of the martyrs, in which 158 martyrs' remains and 2 old Red Army soldiers are buried. In the north of the cemetery, there is the tomb of general Qin Zibin, who died in the Anti Japanese war. Looking at the mausoleum, there are many admirers who say: do revolution, regardless of wealth, blood stained mountains and rivers, for five thousand years of history; enjoy happiness, cherish heroism, tower table merit, for Tianmen sixteen peaks for high.
Located 1.5km away from the center of the city, the martyrs' cemetery is now equipped with various infrastructures and has been fully opened to the outside world. Based on the landscape of Zhangjiajie, the cemetery will provide a red position for the youth to carry out patriotic traditional revolutionary education, and meet many visitors at home and abroad with a beautiful environment.
In the south of the cemetery, Huilong Pavilion, 32 meters high, stands on the top of the mountain, which is shoulder to shoulder with the memorial tower of revolutionary martyrs. This pavilion was built in the Ming Dynasty and is located on Qinglong mountain in the east of the city. At that time, the courtyard was quiet and clear, the walls were red and the tiles were blue, the ancient trees were hidden, and the yuan domain was protected. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty, it was one of the "eight outer scenes" of the county. In the 13th year of the Republic of China, because of the monk's carelessness, the pavilion was burned. In order to show the humanity and restore the East scenery of the city, the Party of the city cultivated trees and flowers and rebuilt the pavilions. Now you can go to the pavilion and look at the north and south. The ancient cave is opposite to the gate of heaven. The fog locks the clouds and hides the crouching tiger. You can open the secluded window and listen to the East and West with the help of the qulan. The long river flows down the Li River, and the waves roll back.
