By using the exhibition unit with the size of 12m × 12M, the layout of Chang'an City Square in Sui and Tang Dynasties and the characteristics of chessboard road network are implemented throughout the museum space design. At the same time, a series of new explorations on the volume, scale, material, texture and color of the building are carried out, creating a high and low, rich and orderly spatial level and effect, restoring the real scale and spatial feeling of Tangxi historical street. Collection quality
Road and rutting ruins
The upper, middle and lower layers of pavement were found in the south of the east end of Xishi South Street. The third layer is 1.8 to 2.7 meters away from the surface, which belongs to the prosperous Tang Dynasty. The roadbed filled with stones is very hard after tamping. The width of the road is 16 to 18 meters, and the width of the carriageway is 14 meters. There is a 30 cm wide open ditch on both sides of the road, and a 1 m wide sidewalk on the outside. A number of rutting remains with a width of about 1.3 meters were found on the road surface.
Gujing site
During the archaeological excavation in 2006, it was found that the Yong'an canal of Tang Dynasty flowed northward through the east of Xishi, and a branch canal about 140 meters long, 3.4 meters wide and 6 meters deep extended westward along the north side of Xishi South Street, which should be the main source of water in Xishi. In most of the sites, well remains were found, which were divided into draught and seepage. The well is 4-6m deep and 1m in diameter with brick wall. In addition, wedge-shaped stone components were found, which should be stone components of well platform.
Drainage ditch site
In the archaeological excavation of Xishi City, two kinds of drainage channels, i.e. earthen and brick, were found. The wall of earthen ditch is pasted with wooden board, and the column is erected outside the board to prevent the wall from collapsing. In the Tang Dynasty, Chang'an city was surrounded by eight rivers, and water was diverted into the western city, which not only provided water transportation, but also solved the problem of water supply, which was one of the basic conditions for the prosperity of the western city.
Ruins of Shiban bridge on the north side of "Shizi Street" in Northeast China
In 2006, a stone slab bridge for pedestrians was excavated on the north side of "cross street" in the northeast of Xishi. The bridge is 5.5 meters long in the East and West, and 1.75 meters wide in the South and North. It is also a water culvert here. The stone slabs of the stone slab bridge are fixed with swallow tail shaped iron clips, and the lower part is supported by stone bars or stone slabs.
The site of Shizijie in the northeast of Xishi
The Xishi site is a rectangle, 1031 meters long from north to South and 927 meters wide from east to west. It is buried 1.8 to 2.5 meters below the surface of the earth. There are two parallel streets in the north-south direction and two in the east-west direction in the city. The four streets are crossed into a "well shaped" shape. The whole city is divided into nine rectangular sections. Each section faces the street on four sides. There are thousands of shops on the street.
