Wenfeng temple is located at the foot of Wenbi peak at the southwest end of Lijiang ancient city, 8 kilometers away from Lijiang ancient city. It was built in the 11th year of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty. The Tibetan name is "sannajiazhuolin", which means the Lama Temple of Secret Religious organ and happy paradise. It is a famous Buddhist holy land.

Wenfeng Temple
Wenfeng temple is located at the foot of Wenbi peak at the southwest end of Bazi in Lijiang, 8 kilometers away from Lijiang County. It was built in the 11th year of Yongzheng reign in Qing Dynasty, and its Tibetan name is sangnajiazhuolin.
It was originally the site of Lingshou temple. In 1733, gamaba preached scriptures here and built a hut. In 1739, the chieftain of Mu family in Lijiang invited the four treasures of karma Gaju sect to Lijiang to carry forward Buddhism, and asked the great situ Fawang to select the site to build the temple. It was built the next year and expanded in 1828. It was named Wenfeng temple. It is one of the highest schools of karma Gaju Bai religion in Tibetan Buddhism.
Wenfeng temple is a provincial key cultural relics protection unit. It has a history of more than 300 years since the 13th Dongbao Zhongba Hutuktu was appointed by Dabao Fawang and dasitufawang to manage the educational affairs of the thirteen temples in Northwest Yunnan.
Basic introduction

The covered bucket caisson is painted with the patterns of eight treasures of Lamaism and Vajra seat, which has strong local characteristics.

Historical origin
Qing Yongzheng 11 years (1733), fan Seng gelibu knot Mao here. In the fourth year of Qianlong reign (1739), the king of Tibetan magic came to Lijiang to ask the magistrate to administer the school, publicize and advocate the donation for repair, which took five years to complete. The hall was rebuilt in 1828. Later, it was renamed Wenfeng temple.
In the heyday of Wenfeng temple, there were five courtyards and twenty-four small courtyards with hundreds of monks. Later, only the Dharma hall, the side hall and the main hall remained, and they were renovated in 1986. In the center of the main hall, the Lei Gong column is painted with eight trigrams, yin and Yang, and the twelve boards around it are painted with Eight Buddhist treasures, Vajra and Haimu, and the inner and outer eaves are overlapped.
Wenfeng temple is the highest institution of Lamaism in Northwest Yunnan. There is a spirit cave in Sinan mountain. It is said that the king of the great treasure of Tibet once crossed the Jinsha River three times, searched all over Western Yunnan, and finally found this magical and beautiful place in Lijiang. It is known as the first of the twenty-four spiritual caves in nandalibu Prefecture in Buddhist legend, namely "the first spiritual cave in nandalibu Prefecture". There is also a big black stone on its side. It is said that the venerable JIAYE once preached Hongfa here. Before leaving Jizu mountain, he left the key of Huashou gate in this stone. Therefore, all pilgrims from Qinghai, Tibet, Sichuan and Yunnan who went to Jizu mountain to worship Buddha would come here to "borrow the key" and put it back here.
Lingwen Pavilion (quiet sitting Hall) is built in Lingdong, which is a place for lamas to sit in meditation and practice, who have obtained the degree of "Gelong" from the thirteen great temples of the Gaju sect in Northwest Yunnan. Buddhism is called "meditation". In August 1956, Sakyamuni's relic (Buddha's tooth) returned to China from Myanmar, and the temple held unprecedented religious activities to welcome Buddha's tooth. On October 19, 1986, Panchen, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, inspected Wenfeng temple and proposed the name of the Tibetan temple. In 1982, it was announced as the first batch of key cultural relics protection units in Lijiang County.
Temple influence

Architectural features

Its roof is a square pavilion with four corners and a sharp roof. It is located at the highest level of the main hall. 1、 Under the eaves of the second floor, special-shaped bucket arches are built. The space in the hall is spacious, up to 4 meters high. Six square pillars are carved with lotus petals and various flower patterns, supporting the big sparrow with cirrus patterns. The bird pastes gold foil for the whole body, giving people a sense of grace. There are eight treasures of Lamaism and the map of Vajra seat in the covered bucket caisson. In the lower part of the hall, there are three Buddha statues against the wall, a red copper censer in the middle, and red round carpets on both sides. It is the place where monks chant sutras. On the second floor is the Sutra collection building, with tens of thousands of sutras stored in camphor boxes and kept by eminent monks. In addition, there is no mildew.
Behind Wenfeng temple is a group of Zen houses, with 30 courtyards scattered on the semicircular hillside behind the main building. The main building is tall and majestic, resplendent and magnificent, and the courtyards around are small and unique, elegant and simple.
Temple highlights
"Anle auspicious forest" is located in the south slope of the temple, about 1 Li high. It is a famous meditation altar of the highest Lamaism institution. There are two courtyards in front of the gate, dining hall and other miscellaneous rooms in the front yard, meditation meditation room in the back yard, and lecturing altar in the south. There are many Buddha statues, which make people respect.
Cultural relics in the temple
There is a bronze drum with a long history in the temple, which is now collected in the County Museum. There is also a volume of Dharma Hall painting, four Zhang long and more than one Zhang wide, which was painted by a famous teacher in the mainland for three years. This painting is only for important festivals or for the time of welcoming and seeing off eminent monks and living Buddhas, lighting incense, singing and showing off. In the north of the hall, a bronze bell of the early Qing Dynasty, weighing more than 400 Jin, hangs from the pillars.
