Founded in 1962, the school is located in Wenshan District of Taipei, not far from the Bank of Jingmei River, a tributary of Xindian river. The first president, Ms. Deng Yuxiang, hopes to cultivate new era women with bright prospects in this beautiful campus, so she takes Jingmei as the name of the school. It is the third women's high school in Taipei and the only public women's high school set up by Taiwanese after the restoration of Taiwan.
