Evolution of school history
The period of Japanese occupation
At the end of 1895, zhishanyan school was founded, which was the beginning of new education in Taiwan. The Anti Japanese sentiment of Taiwan compatriots was high, and six Japanese teachers in our school were killed. When the Japanese retaliated cruelly, they demolished the Wenwu temple in Taipei City in Qing Dynasty. The school was moved to the current site of the south gate, opposite the governor's house, to facilitate control.
It was renamed "Mandarin School" in 1896. A teacher's department with two years of study is set up to train Japanese teachers, future teachers of normal schools and even principals of primary schools; a language department with four years of study is set up to teach Japanese to young people on the island. There are also affiliated schools for the internship of the model department, which will develop independently in the future. Today, the first choice of senior high school students in Jibei District, Jianguo senior high school and No.1 women's senior high school, both come from this.
In 1900, agricultural science was added, and then it became Ilan agriculture and forestry school (today's Ilan University) and Jiayi agriculture and forestry school (today's Jiayi University); railway science and telecommunication science were added, and then it became Taipei Polytechnic School (today's Taipei University of science and Technology). Before the establishment of Imperial University of Taipei, it was the highest institution on the island.
The Japanese occupation of Taiwan and Japanese students to double track system, differential treatment. Fortunately, under the influence of "Taisho Democracy", most of the teachers from Japan are progressives who sympathize with and take more care of Taiwanese students. Due to the policy of ignorance of the people, the level of schoolwork is too low compared with that of local students. Teachers encourage students to be up-to-date, treat them as college students, and supplement them with a lot of difficult extra-curricular knowledge. At that time, a whole generation of Taiwan elites were cultivated, such as Wu Sanlian. But after the February 28 Incident, more alumni were suppressed.
In 1902, the National Language Department of the Ministry of languages became the national language department. In 1918, the national language school, Tainan Branch, was established, and later evolved into Tainan normal school (today's Tainan University). In 1919, the school headquarters was transformed into Taipei Normal School. There are preparatory courses, four years of study, admitted by primary school; undergraduate courses, two years of study, promoted by preparatory courses; teacher training workshops, after graduation as substitute teachers. As for the Ministry of industry and commerce, it was abolished and focused on the cultivation of teachers.
Naturally, the young Taisheng was dissatisfied with the Japanese regime and began to revolt. In 1922, the first student movement broke out, and 15 people, such as Lin Qiuwu, were dropped out of school; in 1924, the second student movement, 38 people, such as Li Youbang, were dropped out of school; most of these students transferred to the mainland of China and became active anti Japanese people, which had a far-reaching impact on the cause of national anti Japanese. In 1927, the Japanese invaders divided the Taipei Normal School into two parts in order to avoid any further trouble: the first normal school in Taipei was still in the south of the city, all of them were Japanese students; the second normal school in Taipei was exiled to the remote Liuzhangli, also known as Fanglan school, to accommodate Taiwanese students; this was the first time that the two schools were separated.
In 1928, the first division set up a women's exercise department to recruit graduates from women's colleges and universities, and their study and appointment were equal with those of boys. This broke the situation that normal schools did not accept girls, and became the highest institution for women for a time. In 1943, World War II was in full swing, Japanese imperialism was deeply mired in the Pacific War, and the Japanese rule of the governor's office was in danger. In order to save resources, the first division and the second division were merged into Taipei Normal School and upgraded to junior college. There are preparatory and women's departments in Nanmen school building, and undergraduate in Fanglan school building. The nature of this North teacher is different from that of that North teacher (1919). The former is junior college degree, while the latter is senior high school degree. In 1945, the Japanese base camp mobilized apprentices, and all the boys in the school were recruited as soldiers. On May 30, 1945, the Allied forces carried out carpet bombing, and the South Gate School was destroyed, while the Fanglan school was still alive. On August 15, 1945, Japan was defeated.
Provincial period
On December 5, 1945, the national government took over the school and rebuilt it in ruins. Its name is Taiwan Provincial Taipei Normal School. The nature of this North Division is different from that of that North Division (1943). The former is junior high school level, while the latter is junior college level. Taipei's air raid flattened the Central District of the city, and the Nanmen school building was no exception. On December 25, out of the tradition of the old Chinese School for men and women, another Taiwan Provincial Taipei women's normal school was set up in Nanmen school, which is the second separation of the two schools. Fanglan school has evolved into Taipei University of education. The two schools have similar department settings, and the score line is not up and down, except that one is a male school and the other is a female school. The situation of male and female schools continued until 1979.
At that time, Taiwan's Provincial Taipei women's normal school enrolled junior high school girls, studied for three years, trained primary and preschool teachers, and lived on campus at public expense. North women's division continues the tradition of North Division, semi military life management, rigorous school spirit, students' quality is in the forefront. The goal is to cultivate "a good teacher, a good wife and a good mother".
In 1964, in order to improve the teachers of primary education, they returned to the junior college level. At this time, it was called Taiwan Provincial Taipei women's normal college, and the five-year system was changed. In response to the shortage of teachers, a three-year national school teachers section is set up to recruit high school graduates. In addition, a night department will be set up to provide channels for teachers' further study.
Municipal period
In 1967, Taipei city was transformed into a municipality directly under the central government, and our school was also transformed into a subordinate one. At that time, it was called Taipei women's normal college. After upgrading, the municipal government has abundant financial resources, and the school affairs have made great progress. It was a great advantage for students to be distributed to Taipei for teaching after graduation. Before the economic take-off, women's normal colleges were regarded as a way of upward mobility, attracting more and more elites to apply for the examination, and the competition for admission was quite fierce. The entrance score exceeds that of Beiyi girl, becoming the first wish that girls dream of.
In 1969, President sun Peide took office, rebuilt school buildings, improved teachers, and enriched equipment. The school also attaches importance to aesthetic education, more emphasis on "the connotation of beauty" and "the behavior of beauty", and Chinese is also important
