Guangwu Polytechnic College was founded on March 17, 1971 with the donation of Dr. Shan Shengwu, educators and businessmen in response to the advocacy of private education. Its purpose is to cultivate practical technical talents and further develop industry. The name of Guangwu Polytechnic College was written by Mr. Yang Lianggong.
In 1971, Guangwu Polytechnic College was founded. It has four subjects: Mechanical Engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering and chemical engineering. At the beginning, it had only five-year department.
In 1987, a two-year junior college night department was set up.
In 1988, a two-year specialized day department was set up.
In 1994, an information management section was added and renamed as "Guangwu industrial and Commercial College".
In 1995, an international trade section was set up.
In 1996, the Department of applied foreign languages was set up.
In 1997, a catering management section was set up.
In 1998, an enterprise management section was set up.
In 1999, a further education school and in-service special class were set up.
On August 1, 2000, it was restructured into "Guangwu Institute of technology", with a four-year university department as well as a specialized department.
In 2001, an in-service special class was set up in the Institute of advanced studies and the two-year technical department.
In 2002, the Department of computer and communication engineering, the Department of information communication, the Department of information management, the Department of tourism and catering hotel were set up, and the Graduate Institute was set up to recruit master's degree programs.
In 2004, the Department of international trade, Department of applied foreign languages, Department of catering management, Department of enterprise management and Department of Finance and law were established. It was renamed "Beitai Institute of science and technology".
In 2005, the Department of biotechnology and the Department of sports health and leisure were added.
In 2006, the Department of cosmetics application and management was added, and the name of the University was changed to "North Taiwan Institute of science and technology".
In 2007, an e-commerce research institute was set up and a master's degree program in fuel cell and embedded system industry was recruited.
In 2010, a degree program for conference and exhibition services (professionals) was added, and the Department of information communication was renamed "Department of digital multimedia design".
In May 2011, he proposed to the Education Department of Taiwan to upgrade to a University of science and technology, which was approved by the Education Department of Taiwan to prepare for half a year. Traditional characteristics
In the era of "anti Communist and anti Russian", the word "Guangwu" in the name of Guangwu Polytechnic implied the significance of the times. During the "Engineering College" period of the first 29 years, the school was famous for its military management. In September 1977, the school set up an independent self-governing brigade for residential students to manage the residential students. In September 1979, it also set up a self-improvement and self-governing Corps for the whole school, with outstanding student cadres to manage the students. The first president, Dr. Shan Shengwu, held a military parade at the annual celebration meeting Wuzhi school was very strict. At that time, double roll call system was adopted to avoid students' escaping and truancy.
