Yamugou scenic spot is located on the Bank of Taiping River (a famous scenic spot in Guizhou Province) in Jiangkou County, Tongren City, Guizhou Province, adjacent to Fanjing Mountain (a National Nature Reserve and one of China's top ten summer famous mountains). It is a key satellite scenic spot of ecological and cultural tourism in Fanjing Mountain. The scenic spot is located in the middle section of Jiangfan highway, 19 kilometers away from Jiangkou County, 30 kilometers away from Jiangkou station of Chongqing Huaihua railway, 60 kilometers away from Tongren station, 140 kilometers away from Yuping station of Hunan Guizhou railway, and 80 kilometers away from Tongren airport. The traffic is very convenient.

Development history

According to records, yamugou was named "ghost Valley" before the Tang Dynasty, also known as "yinlonggou". Later, a sacred tree grew in the valley, which looked like stone and wood. The whole body was blue and transparent, and the flowers had different fragrance. It could drive away evil spirits and cure diseases. Eating its fruit, it could make couples who had not been bred for many years have children, and attracted countless local people to worship it. It was named "Yamu", which means "tree god" in ancient Tujia language The name "yamugou" is still in use today. Yamugou has been known as "the first ditch in Guizhou" since ancient times. "Guizhou No.1" originated from ancient books: there is a saying in Manzhi of Tang Dynasty that "you've traveled all over Manjing, but you've never heard of it as one", while there is a record in Sizhou Fu Zhi that "you can't express the God of Yamu; you can't express the beauty of qigou, you can't express Guizhou".

Yamugou has a total length of 50 kilometers. It has a pleasant climate, no severe cold in winter and no severe heat in summer. The annual average temperature is about 17 ° C, and the concentration of negative ions in the air is high. It is worthy of the reputation of a natural oxygen bar. It is absolutely an excellent place for exploration, adventure, seclusion and health preservation. A poet once wrote the praise of "yamugou is warm in winter, cool in summer, beautiful mountains and waters". The mountain is rich in species, including golden monkey, macaque, forest musk deer, black bear, pangolin, red bellied Caragana, tiger plate and other rare animals, as well as Phoebe, Hongdoushan, Alsophila spinulosa, Davidia involucrata (pigeon seed flower) and other rare tree species in the world. The water in the ditch is crystal clear and flows all the year round. The mountain springs are tinkling and the waterfalls are full of flowers. The yam fish, horned fish, giant salamander (salamander) and bearded frog live here. The rocks in the ditch are different, colorful, human like, bird like, animal like, and lifelike. The cliffs are precipitous and beautiful, and the mountains are overlapping. Some are as big as arms, and some are as thin as hair , touching each other, pan Qiu Wolong. The valley is full of purple robe jade belt stone, with clear color layer, warm as jade, which gives tourists a good meaning of "Purple air coming from the East, promotion into the nobility, jade belt across the waist, good luck". Tujia style park covers an area of 18000 square meters, including totem square, Folk Museum, batik Experience Hall, Tuwang building, folk performing hall, Fengnian waterwheel, shuinianfang, hongshiqiao, duigetan, zheyoufang, Gufa distillery and other attractions. In the totem square, Tujia jade ox, the treasure of the town, is carved from a whole piece of Xiuyan Jade. It is 5 meters long, 2.3 meters high and weighs 12 tons. It can be called "the first jade ox in Asia". On April 18 every year, Tujia people from surrounding villages gather here to hold a bull King meeting and make a wish to Yu Niu. Batik Experience Hall is mainly to show visitors the technological process of batik. In Tuwang building, visitors can travel through time and space to return to the era of Tuwang, put on Tuwang costumes, sit on the throne of Tuwang, become a real Tuwang, and learn about the culture of Tuwang. The Tujia Drum Tower at hongshiqiaotou has "China's largest drum". It is covered by a piece of whole cowhide on both sides. It is 3.39 meters in diameter and weighs more than 1000 Jin. It took a famous drum maker nearly a month to make it. When the drum is at its maximum, it can convey ten miles away. According to Tujia people's custom, three beats of the drum will lead to health, freedom and happiness. Countless tourists come here to beat the drum three times. Next to the drum tower, there are three famous Tujia workshops, which are wine making workshop, oil pressing workshop and water milling workshop. The Tujia rice wine made from yamushan spring by the original method is sweet and mellow, with endless aftertaste. In the oil press workshop, many tourists are shouting, pushing the wood into the oil tank together. With the sound of "creaking", every drop of vegetable oil starts to stay along the bamboo tube. Looking at the fruits of their labor, they all show a happy smile. The shuinianfang can be said to be the wisdom representative of Tujia ancestors. It does not need electricity and fuel consumption. Pour the items that need to be milled into the milling trough, open the sluice outside the mill, and the impulse generated by the running water drives the stone mill to rotate, so that the rice can be milled into rice or rice powder. In a drainage truck beside the ditch, there is a bamboo tube on each wooden blade wheel. When the impeller submerges into the water, the bamboo tube is filled with water. When the impeller turns to a high place, the water in the bamboo tube is poured into the water tank set up in the air. A row of drainage slots are flowing quietly, just like water lines falling down on the ditch. From a distance, it looks like a curtain of water, shining white and transparent in the sun, Poetic and picturesque.

By the end of September 2012, the construction of the scenic spot had been completed, and the valley had been developed to the Yamu waterfall 3 kilometers away. Yamu waterfall is more than 20 meters high and more than 30 meters wide. The surface of the waterfall is wavy. After three waves, it falls on the big rock three feet square in front of it. The splashing water is like a lotus in full bloom, forming a lotus water curtain. A wide platform is formed behind the water curtain, with several small stone tables built in. Tourists can enjoy tea, play chess and have a rest behind the waterfall. There is a large open area in front of the waterfall. From here, there is a cableway up the mountain. On the mountain is the mysterious Ming Dynasty ancient village.
