* archway
Outside the Zhongzheng memorial hall, there is a four character archway named "Dazhong Zhizheng", which is the Ouyang inquiry style designated by Qin Xiaoyi. The source of the archway is Wang Yangming's biography: "it's the return of Dazhong Zhizheng." Then there is the long and wide avenue for worshiping, with flowers and trees planted on both sides. The main body of the memorial hall can be seen at the end. The archway is of the specification of "five rooms, six columns and eleven floors", with a height of 30 meters. After December 8, 2007, it was replaced with the word "Freedom Square".

On the outer wall near the sidewalk, there are 246 Chinese lantern windows with 18 different patterns and shapes every 4.5 meters; there are four corner pavilions (including six for the two halls) with a height of 11.1 meters. The forms and materials are the same as those of the archway.
Architectural features
The Zhongzheng memorial hall is designed by Yang Zhuocheng, the designer of Yuanshan Hotel. All the buildings are in the style of Chinese culture. It is the top of the temple of heaven and the body of the pyramid. Its exterior is mainly blue and white, symbolizing "freedom and equality". The memorial hall is built on a broad foundation with three floors, and its plane is square, implying the meaning of "Zhongzheng". The octagonal roof of the hall represents the eight virtues of "loyalty, filial piety, benevolence, love, faith, righteousness, peace and so on", resulting in the majority of people in the shape of "human". They gather on the top of the hall and connect with heaven to embody the idea of "unity of heaven and man". The roof is made of tianbaolan glazed tiles, blue with purple, reflecting the sun. The top of the pagoda is golden to show its sublimation and brilliance. Other materials are natural color, milky white marble wall, cypress ceiling in the hall, caisson with double overlapping bucket arch, light red granite floor, without any paint. The octagonal roof of the Chiang Kai Shek memorial hall, the top of the Fu Hall of the theater, and the top of the Xieshan of the concert hall form a three mountain layout.
