historical background
Qianshan Wulong Palace (Anshan City, Liaoning Province)
Located in the middle of Qianshan Mountain, Anshan City, Liaoning Province, Wulong palace was first built in the third year of Qianlong reign of Qing Dynasty (1738 AD). When Peng Fuguang, a Taoist of Longmen School of Quanzhen, traveled to Qianshan Mountain, he saw that there were five magnificent and elegant peaks with different shapes around the place. They meandered from the south, North and west to a solitary peak, just like five black dragons dancing, forming the trend of five dragons playing with pearls The purple air appeared, so we chose this place to build a temple, and named it Wulong palace according to the mountain situation of Wulong gathering.
After the Wulong palace was rebuilt and expanded in Jiaqing, Daoguang, Xianfeng and the Republic of China, there were 28 main halls, front halls, guest halls, prison rooms, shifangtang, bell tower and Yuhuangge. During the "Cultural Revolution", the palace was severely damaged and the statues were smashed. Reconstruction began in the 1990s. There are Laojun hall, Sanguan hall, Zhenwu hall, Cihang hall, Lingguan hall and so on. Among them, Laojun hall is the largest. The hall is built on the cliff and rises from the bottom to the top. It is a two-story arched structure with an area of 280m2 and a height of 13m. The clay statue of Laojun in the hall is 6.5 meters high. There is a picture of Laojun 81 on the wall. There are three layers of brass tripod outside the hall. When the sun shines from the gap of the mountain to the main hall and Baoding, it shows thousands of lights and thousands of auspicious colors. It makes people feel as if they are in the sky of Daluo and in the palace of Jinque, listening to the teachings of Laojun.
Main attractions
In the courtyard of Wulong palace, there is a large censer, which is made of Mo Yu stone. It is not only resistant to high temperature and cold, but also has a pleasant sound. What's more valuable is that it makes a sound that is no different from that of metal.
Near the Wulong palace, there is a huge stone, 10 meters long, high in the front and low in the back, half covering the ground. It looks like a lying cow ruminating after a full meal, so it is called "Crouching cow stone". On the right side of "Wo Niu", close to the "belly", there is a well in the shape of a half moon, which is called "crescent well". It is more than ten meters deep and has a sweet taste of water. It is the top of Qianshan Mountain. It is said that Li Shimin and Xue Rengui, the great general of the Tang Dynasty, passed through this place, drinking water and led to a big golden carp. Xue Rengui caught the fish, and the fish bumped into the tree and caught the fish in the crack of the tree, forming a spectacle of carp crossing the tree. In the 11th year of Jiaqing (1806) of the Qing Dynasty, Taoists of the Wulong palace chiseled it into a semicircular shape like crescent, so it was named crescent well.
