Pengcheng Square

Pengcheng square is located in the center of Xuzhou City. It was built on June 4, 1998 and opened to the public for 116 days at the end of September of the same year. It is the top priority of Xuzhou municipal government's project construction in 1998. Its completion has realized the long cherished wish of Xuzhou people to own large square in the center of Xuzhou City. Pengcheng square has a large scale and extraordinary momentum. The square is about 250 meters long from east to west, starting from Zhongshan North Road in the West and ending at Pengcheng road in the East. It is more than 400 meters wide from south to North and across Huaihai Road. It has a management area of nearly 100000 square meters, a green space area of nearly 4.2 hectares and a green space rate of 67%. It is the largest city center in the province. Guangchang Pengcheng square consists of three parts: Central Guangchang sub square and South Square. The main square divides the green space according to the shape of tripod to organize visitors. The four legs of the tripod is a tourist road stretching to all directions. The body of the tripod is paved with Anxi red and Taihang red granite to become the largest chess board in China, which symbolizes that Xuzhou has been a must for military strategists since ancient times. The green space uses a large piece of evergreen lawn imported from the United States as the background color, and retains the original large trees and ornamental pomegranate trees to form the effect of having flowers under the trees and trees under the flowers. There is a zero kilometer sign and a flag pole in the center of the square. The auxiliary square is transformed from the original square. There are square pigeon room and tool room in the center. The lawn of the square is divided by irregular figures, leaving a large space for activities, which is convenient for morning exercise, rest and other activities. The South Square opposite Huaihai Road is a grass square with an area of 12320 square meters. The center is equipped with a circular fountain, lighting and sound facilities.
