Erzhong temple is located in Yuhuatai, Nanjing, which is a place to bury loyal bones in history. Yang Bangyi, the hero of the Southern Song Dynasty, refused to surrender to the Jin Dynasty. He was dissected by the Jin people under the Yuhuatai. Song Gaozong gave him his posthumous title and built Baozhong temple, which is the ancestral hall to worship Yang Bangyi. One hundred and fifty years later, Wen Tianxiang, the hero of the anti yuan war, was defeated and captured. On the way to escort Dadu (now Beijing) through Jiankang (Nanjing), he expressed his admiration for Yang Bangyi and his ambition to die for the country in his poem Huai Zhong Xiang. Because he admired Yang Bangyi since childhood, they were both from Jishui, Jiangxi Province. After Wen Tianxiang died, people worshipped him in Baozhong temple, so they changed their name to Erzhong temple. Erzhong temple was rebuilt in 1998. Its main building is an antique temple with nine purlins and single eaves. The temple is 15 meters wide, 10 meters deep and 9.9 meters high. The main entrance of the ancestral hall is 25 meters long with a 6.88-meter-long hard mountain shaped broken line wall. Wen Tianxiang's Zhengqi song, written in Wuzhong's strange book, is carved on black polished granite. The anti yuan deeds of "Er Zhong" are lamentable. Predecessors have left many poems, such as Zheng Yue's "crying for Prime Minister Chen to be held by the original rhyme", Liu Xun's "lamenting Wen Kui's fate and Chen Kui's long death book", Ke Qian's "reading history and seeing Chen Zhongsu's biography with feelings" and Lin Jun's Huang LAN and Zhou Ying's Bu Qi rhymes and poems.

history
In memory of these two heroes, later generations built a "Er Zhong Temple" on the Bank of the Baigou River, and carved a stone tablet with the full text of Wen Tianxiang's poem "crossing the Baigou River" on it for visitors and businessmen. Unfortunately, Erzhong temple was destroyed in the war.

character
Yang Bangyi
Yang Bangyi (1085-1129), with the name of Xiji and the name of "Zhongxiang", was born in Yangjiazhuang (now Yunzhuang Village), Huangqiao Town, Jishui County, Jizhou, Southern Song Dynasty. He was a famous minister who sacrificed his life to fight against Jin Dynasty. Yang Bangyi was a Jinshi in 1115. He successively served as a county captain of Zhuyuan County, a professor of Qizhou, Luzhou and Jiankang counties, a county magistrate of Liyang County, and a general judge of Jiankang Prefecture. In 1129, Kangjin was captured. When the Jin soldiers persuaded him to surrender, they vowed not to surrender. They bit their fingers and wrote on their lapels that they would rather be Zhao's ghost than his ministers. Then they died of martyrdom. Yang Bangyi has five sons. His eldest son, Yang Zhenwen, was once a court official. His great grandson, Yang Gongjian, abandoned his official and moved to Yangzhuang in Liyang to guard the tomb of Zhongxiang. His second son, Yang Yuwen, moved to Zhejiang; his third son, Yang Zhaowen, once served as the magistrate of Wuchang county and stayed in Yangjiazhuang, Jishui; his fourth son, Yang Weiwen, moved to Hunan and was the ancestor of the Yang family in Xichong. The fifth son, Yueqing, died early.
known as a model of fidelity to the last Song sovereigns
In 1127 ad, the song and Jin Dynasties fought in Kaifeng, and the Song Dynasty was defeated. In 1276 A.D., the yuan army crossed the river and went south. Lin'an, the seat of the small court of the Southern Song Dynasty, was in urgent need. At this time, Wen Tianxiang, who had resigned from office and returned to his hometown, immediately scattered his family property to make up his military capital, unified his army and served as king Qin, and was awarded the title of zuoshu secret envoy. In the following three years, Wen Tianxiang led the army to fight against the Yuan Dynasty in the southeast coast, and was defeated and captured in the wupoling encounter in Chaozhou. On the way back to the north, Wen Tianxiang drowned himself and was rescued. When he crossed the ocean, he wrote down the famous sentence of "who has no death in life since ancient times? Let's take the heart of life and shine on history". After that, he was escorted all the way north to the South Bank of Baigou River, and then went north to cross the boundary river, that is, to enter the boundary of Liao Dynasty (referring to the boundary between song and Liao Dynasty in 1004). He wrote a poem crossing the Baigou River, in which he recalled Zhang Shuye who died here. He could not help but feel sad for the same experience and situation of himself and Zhang Shuye. Zhang Shuye is a poet who can be regarded as a model. This is the true scholar of the country and the backbone of the nation. Although the poet and Zhang Shuye were born at different times, it seems that the poet saw a stirring scene of General Zhang cracking his canthus and whiskers, looking up to the sky and shouting. He wrote hard, so there was an impassioned "crossing the Baigou River".
Wen Tianxiang set his life and death aside and vowed to follow Uncle Zhang's noble character. In 1283 A.D., after being imprisoned in bingmasi prison of Dadu of Yuan Dynasty for three years, on a day when the wind was blowing and the sky was dark, more than 10000 onlookers died in chaishikou. He asked where the South was. After people told him, he held his head high, faced south, and calmly went to die, fulfilling his oath of "my generation will die" in his poem crossing the Baigou river.
