Park North Tower Park (Baoen Temple) is the oldest temple in Suzhou. It is also the largest Buddhist jungle in Suzhou. It is more than 1700 years ago. It was built in the chiwu period of the Three Kingdoms (238-251). According to historical records, it was built by Sun Quan for his mother Chen. It was first called tongxuan temple. In the early Tang Dynasty, it was renamed Kaiyuan Temple. At the end of the Five Dynasties, it was renamed Baoen temple. Beita temple is a Chinese Pavilion style Pagoda with eight sides and nine floors. It is the largest ancient pagoda in the south of the Yangtze River, covering an area of 1.3 Mu and 76 meters high. The tower is equipped with wooden ladders, so people can climb along the steps. Along the veranda and relying on the railings, you can have a panoramic view of the ancient city of Suzhou, as well as the landscape and pastoral scenery outside the city. Beitasi is now a cultural relic protection unit at the provincial level. On the east side of Beita temple is nanmu Guanyin hall rebuilt in the 40th year of Wanli in Ming Dynasty, which is the most complete ancient architecture of Ming Dynasty in Suzhou. In the south of Guanyin hall, a corridor is built, displaying the largest lacquer carving in China, the painting of flourishing age, also known as the painting of prosperous Suzhou. With a total length of 32 meters and a height of 2 meters, the picture reproduces the prosperity of Suzhou in the "Qianlong heyday" of the Qing Dynasty. In the Pavilion behind the pagoda, there is a rare stone carving work of the Yuan Dynasty, the memorial tablet of Zhang Shicheng, which is of great historical and artistic value. Tabei is a classical garden with mountains and waters as its artistic conception. The garden has a broad pool and ethereal rocks. Overlooking the shadow of the tower in the water, it has a unique taste. Beisi pagoda, the landmark of the temple, was built in the Liang Dynasty of the Southern Dynasty and later destroyed. Today, the pagoda was rebuilt in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is the tallest ancient pagoda with brick and wood structure in China. It has the reputation of the first Pagoda in the south of the Yangtze River and is an important urban symbol of Suzhou. The tower is a nine level eight sided brick and wood structure pavilion type, with a height of 76 meters. The structure of the tower body is composed of the outer wall, the corridor, the inner wall and the chamber of the tower. The magnificent tower is the highest among all the towers in Wuzhong. From the tower, you can have a panoramic view of Suzhou.
