Wanfo Temple

Wanfo temple, the only Buddhist holy land in Jingdong, is built in the garden. The temple was built in the late Zhenguan period of Tang Dynasty. It is magnificent and magnificent. It is full of pilgrims every day. It gives people a sense of mystery of an ancient temple hidden in the mountains. The whole temple is grand and magnificent. The front courtyard is composed of the gate, the main hall and the auxiliary hall. The hall is five rooms wide and covers an area of 420 square meters. In the ten thousand Buddha Temple, there is the largest stone statue of Buddha, Dharma and monk in China. Amitabha Buddha is 8.7 meters tall. On the right side is the Bodhisattva with right flank, and on the left side is the Bodhisattva with left flank, each 6 meters high. The three Buddha statues, with simple shapes, simple lines and vivid posture, are rare historical sites in the north. The East, North and west sides of Wanfo hall are covered with niches, with 10960 small Buddha statues. When people enter the temple, they feel as if they are in the solemn Buddhist kingdom. 10960 vivid little Buddhas constitute the three saints of the great Ten Thousand Buddhas' Pilgrimage, hence the name; the rebuilt Ten Thousand Buddhas Temple opened on September 6, 1993, and then opened to visitors. Wanfo temple is an important historical site in Panshan, and it is also the holy land of Buddhism and the palace of art. According to historical records, the Wanfo temple was first built in the reign of Zhenguan and rebuilt in the 20th year of Qianlong. As one of the scenic spots in Jingji villa, Emperor Qianlong once wrote a couplet for it: "such a supernatural power promotes Buddhism; you can see the real mountain as it is." Wanfo temple has become one of the places for religious activities in Tianjin. There are monks, morning bells and evening drums, and pilgrims. Large scale Buddhist activities are held on February 29, July 15, September 19 and the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month.

Rock carvings

Mr. Yu Qingcheng was born in 1944 in Jixian, Tianjin. His rough and bitter childhood and youth made him indissoluble bond with the earth. Since 1990, he has been engaged in the research of clay sculpture art creation in Shiqu garden scenic area. His works have been exhibited in various large-scale art exhibitions throughout the country and won many awards.

Panshan persimmon
