The geology of dayunshan is composed of micro dense granite. The south slope of the main peak is slightly weathered, while the north slope is severely weathered. The depth of local section is 20-30m. In 1988, the State Council announced that Yueyang Tower Dongting Lake scenic spot is the second batch of national key scenic spots. Human history

The origin of the ancestral hall

In the Xining year of emperor Shenzong of the Song Dynasty (1078-1085), there was Shi Guang, a Taoist priest in Yuezhou, who retired from Dayun mountain to study Taoism. He once became a great master of Taoism in Dayun mountain of Yueyang. In the Ming Dynasty, Yang Daqian, a senior scholar, lived in seclusion in Yunshan during the reign of Chongzhen. He studied metaphysics and wrote books. There were 10 volumes of poems and 10 volumes of anthologies. Tang Jian, a Taoist in the Qing Dynasty, resigned from office and lived in seclusion. He wrote many books and collected thousands of books. Shi Guang resigned from his official post and lived in seclusion in dayunshan to learn Taoism. Later generations set up temples to worship him. He was honored as the barefoot patriarch of dayunshan and juxtaposed with Zhenwu patriarch.

History of Zhenjun Hall

Zhenjun hall is located in the commanding height of the west of Dayun. According to the records of Zhenjun hall, the hall was built in the early Ming Dynasty, and was founded by Duke chaogong, surnamed Xie. Lord Xu xunzhenjun and Zhenwu zushi. In the late Ming Dynasty, the peasant uprising army led by Li Zicheng and the soldiers of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom left behind their deeds. During the great revolution period, there was a vigorous peasant movement. In 1944, Wang Zhen and Wang Shoudao led the southward detachment of the Eighth Route Army to fight against the Japanese aggressors in dayunshan, leaving behind many touching deeds. The temple was damaged by the wars.
