The Museum of Liu's manor in Dayi was built after Liu Wencai, a big landlord, broke out. The manor covers an area of more than 70000 square meters, with a construction area of 21055 square meters. It is the two major building complexes with a distance of 300 meters between the north and the south. In the south is Liu Wencai's husband's residence, which was built in 1932; in the north is the new residence built by Liu Wencai for himself and his younger brother Liu Wenhui (who rose in 1949, served as Minister of state forestry after liberation, and died in Beijing in 1976), which was completed in 1942.
Compared with many manor buildings, the outstanding features of Liu's manor Museum in Dayi are: large scale and complete preservation; the combination of Chinese and Western architectural styles; and the representativeness of Western Sichuan Plain in 1930s. The architectural style of Liu's manor Museum in Dayi not only has the legacy of Chinese feudal mansion, but also absorbs the characteristics of Western castles and churches. It combines Chinese and Western architecture, especially the new museum.

architectural composition
Liu's manor museum complex was built in the early 20th century. The manor complex covers a total area of 71423 square meters, with a construction area of 21055 square meters. It is divided into two major buildings facing north and south. In the south, it is commonly known as the husband's mansion, and in the North, it is commonly known as the new mansion. The two ends are connected by a 329 meter long road. The old man's residence is mainly Liu Wencai's residence. Its overall layout is disordered and irregular polygon, with 27 patios, more than 160 houses and 3 gardens. Compared with the old residence, the new residence in the North has a regular and orderly layout, with a total of 160 houses and two three entrance courtyards with the same area and layout. The well preserved manor buildings, a large number of documents, thousands of cultural relics and nearly ten thousand exhibits constitute an organic whole. They are typical of the architectural forms and features of the landlord manors in Modern Sichuan. They are important places and objects for understanding and studying the landlord economy and culture in China's semi feudal and semi colonial society, as well as the history of Sichuan warlords and folklore.
Laogong Pavilion (Liu Wencai mansion): Laogong pavilion was built in the early 20th century, and its large-scale construction and expansion began around 1928, which took more than 10 years to complete. Surrounded by a 6-meter-high wind and fire wall, it has seven gates. The whole residence covers an area of 12300 square meters, with a construction area of 7650 square meters, 160 houses and 27 patios. The old man's Pavilion is luxurious, exquisitely carved, with a combination of Chinese and Western styles. It is full of high walls, alleys and thick iron locks. It is a typical Chinese rural manor building.
New residence (Liu Wenhui residence): the new residence was built by Liu Wencai for himself and his younger brother Liu Wenhui. It was built in 1938 and completed in 1942. After completion, neither Liu Wencai nor Liu Wenhui lived here. There are 27 patios, four gardens, flower beds, two tennis courts, moon watching platform, stage and so on. In the house in the east wing of the backyard, a secret wall vault is built. In 1988, the West Sichuan folk custom museum was established in the new residence. There are more than 1900 exhibits on display in the museum, which are divided into wedding hall, production and life hall, folk arts and crafts hall, etc., showing the people's production, life and customs of Western Sichuan in the period of the Republic of China to the audience one by one. The overall exhibition of the West Sichuan folk custom museum comprehensively and vividly reproduces the folk customs and customs of the West Sichuan area, such as production and life, as well as the rich and simple cultural life of the people at that time and a wide range of folk crafts. It is not only of historical value, but also full of knowledge and interest.
Rent Collection Yard: the large clay sculpture Rent Collection Yard is located in the rent collection site set up in my husband's Museum. Creative conception began in September 1964, and the work was completed at the end of September 1965, lasting for one year. Liu's manor organized and presided over the creation of rent collection courtyard. The work mainly adopts the traditional clay sculpture techniques of China's folk. It is created in the form of complete group images and realistic modeling methods. It artistically reproduces the typical facts and scenes of peasants' paying land rent to landlords. This group of statues extends 118 meters from the beginning to the end, creating 114 clay statues of the same size as human beings. With a continuous story plot, they show historical pictures such as rent sending, rent checking, fighting in the wind Valley, accounting, rent forcing and tenant farmers' resistance. They deeply reflect the rural economic relations and class relations in the semi colonial and semi feudal society of old China, which is the historical background of old China
The true portrayal and artistic miniature of the art. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, there are two recognized sculptures, one is the "relief commemorating the people's Heroes" in Beijing, the other is the "Rent Collection House". It has been 50 years since the rent collection Institute was preserved in 2015, which is very complete. In 2007, it was rated as a "national first-class protected cultural relic". It is a contemporary exquisite realistic work and a milestone work in the history of Chinese sculpture.
