Architectural structure
Guilin Botanical Garden covers an area of 47.9 hectares. Nanxi River flows through the garden from west to East. In the north of the river, Heishan is mainly composed of limestone mountain and acid soil mound. Now it is opened up as a rare plant area. Around Heishan, there are flower hall, tea garden, palm garden, banyan garden, flower stage, magnolia garden, European garden and bonsai garden, as well as various kinds of landscape pavilions. Osmanthus Expo Park
With an area of about 44660 square meters, the Osmanthus fragrans Expo Park is one of the three major cultivation and propagation bases of Osmanthus fragrans in China. More than 100 varieties of Osmanthus fragrans have been cultivated, propagated and planted. Osmanthus fragrans is one of the top ten traditional flowers in China. Osmanthus fragrans has been cultivated in Guilin for more than one thousand years, and Guilin is named after the growth of Osmanthus fragrans. Due to the unique climate and soil conditions in Guilin, Osmanthus fragrans grows very well in Guilin and is widely cultivated. There are many varieties and quantities of Osmanthus fragrans in Guilin. On March 16, 1984, the 25th meeting of the Standing Committee of the seventh Municipal People's Congress adopted the decision to designate Osmanthus fragrans as the city flower of Guilin. Nearly 2000 varieties of Osmanthus fragrans, such as golden osmanthus, silver osmanthus, red osmanthus and four season osmanthus, were collected in the park, among which 10 excellent varieties, such as yueyuehong, zhushagui and JinManTang, were introduced from Sichuan and Zhejiang. The garden has the most varieties of Osmanthus at home and abroad, and also has the most varieties of silver osmanthus. It enjoys the reputation of "China osmanthus breeding center" and is the main venue of the second China osmanthus Expo. In Hangzhou, Suzhou, Xuhui District, Hefei and other cities with osmanthus as the city flower, there are osmanthus theme parks reflecting their respective regions.
Rare Botanical Garden
The rare botanical garden is located in the east of the park, that is, the whole part of Heishan mountain, covering an area of about 25033m2. It is composed of limestone mountain and acid soil mound. The tall trees in the upper part of the mountain are mainly composed of limestone representative plants. These karst forest vegetation have a good demonstration role in the current rocky desertification crisis.
There are more than 200 kinds of rare and endangered plants in the park, including the first-class national protected plants such as Alsophila spinulosa and Camellia chrysantha, the second-class national protected plants such as Keteleeria villosa, Keteleeria lanceolata, Fokienia hodginsii, Phoebe, Liriodendron, horsetail tree and palm tree, as well as Pinus massoniana and other broad-leaved trees, as well as large-scale vines such as Arnebia tenuifolia, Celastrus angustifolia and shijunzi Rich. In the south of the park, there is a winding path on the mountain, with dense forest, towering ancient trees, climbing trees with vines, and trees pulling vines. It has a natural, rough, wild and quiet original style, which is called "Xishuangbanna" of Guilin.
The special geographical environment and complex flora of Guilin are the main reasons for the variety of plants in Guilin. Many rare plants provide human with raw materials and germplasm resources, and become one of the rare resources for human survival. In fact, the value of some plant species has not been known yet, and it needs to be discovered and utilized by human beings. In order to protect these rare plant resources with special scientific significance and economic value, we have established a rare plant area, and carried out in-depth and systematic research by using modern scientific research means, but also for our future generations. Palm Garden
Palm garden is located in the east of the botanical garden, covering an area of about 3500 square meters. Palms are mainly distributed in tropical and subtropical regions, especially in tropical America and Southeast Asia. More than 190 genera and 2800 species are known. There are about 18 genera and 100 species of palms native to China. There are more than 20 kinds and 300 plants in the park, such as cattail sunflower, fishtail sunflower, palm, sea date, silver seaweed, old sunflower, Tung palm, palm bamboo, foxtail willow, etc. the plants are arranged in a disorderly and dense way, with the charm of coconut wind sunflower, full of subtropical flavor and southern flavor. As palms are more sensitive to cold damage, landscape design should consider the appropriate site and species.
Banyan Garden
Guilin is known as the "banyan city". Banyan trees were widely planted in the past, which was very popular. Banyan trees can be seen everywhere in urban and rural areas of Guilin. Because of its fast growth, long life and large crown, it is deeply loved by the public. Banyan is the mulberry family, banyan. Banyan garden covers an area of about 3070m2. There are more than 800 known species in the world, mainly distributed in tropical areas. There are about 100 species of banyan in China. There are more than 10 varieties of Ficus microcarpa, Ficus microcarpa, etc. in the garden, more than 20 large Ficus microcarpa with beautiful tree shape, rich crown and diameter of 1 meter are mainly planted, and various vegetation are configured to form a variety exhibition garden of Ficus microcarpa.
Mulan Garden
Mulan garden covers an area of about 5700m2. Magnoliaceae is an important tree species in subtropical evergreen broad-leaved forest. It has beautiful flowers and some fragrance. It is also a common ornamental tree species in landscaping. There are about 14 genera and 250 species in the world and 11 genera and 110 species in China. There are more than 30 Magnolia species belonging to 5 genera planted in the park, including brandy, Magnolia grandiflora, Magnolia purpurea, Magnolia, Liriodendron chinense, Manglietia glauca, Michelia Sanguinalis, Michelia davidiana, Liriodendron chinense and other Magnoliaceae plants, and Liriodendron chinense and Liriodendron chinense, which belong to the second-class national protection.
Tea garden
