Miyan Temple
Miyan temple is located in wangjiaying village, Shengshui Town, Nanzheng District, Hanzhong City. It was originally named Zhiping temple and was renamed Miyan temple in September 1994.
According to the annals of Nanzheng County, "Zhiping nunnery was built in the early Ming Dynasty, rebuilt twice in 1893 and 1906, and rebuilt again in 1911.". The components of the temple are the brick and stone structure with suspended mountain style, and the cornice is tilted, which has the architectural style of Ming and Qing Dynasties. It is a large-scale temple building community with typical local characteristics in southern Shaanxi, and has high architectural art value. The temple was announced by Hanzhong Municipal government as a municipal key cultural relics protection unit in August 2000.
The temple is located in the south facing north, with 56 halls and pavilions. It covers an area of 7435 square meters, of which the building area is 900 square meters. In 1985, due to the expansion of yeping'an primary school, the main hall in the backyard was demolished. There are three stone couplets on the stone pillars of the gate. One of them: "the light of the soul shines on the same day, and the art is as popular as the land of the river and the sea. In front of the north gate of the temple, there is a brick screen wall and a pair of stone masts, on which there are square stone buckets, carved into Buddhist story patterns, flowers, dragon patterns, etc. in the South Temple, there is a osmanthus tree of the Qing Dynasty. At present, Buddhist places have been open to the society and are of great development value.
