The astronomical map drawn on the top of Zhang Shiqing's tomb is another important discovery in archaeology after the Northern Wei astronomical map in the Han Dynasty's tomb star map. It is a Chinese and Western astronomical map that combines the traditional Chinese star recording method of the twenty-eight constellations with the Western Star recording method of the twelve signs of the zodiac in Babylon. The murals of Liao tombs reflect the integration of economy, culture, religion and nationality between Qidan and Han in Liao Dynasty. The murals are superb in painting skills, smooth lines, bright colors, full of life interest, and the characters look peaceful and lifelike. No wonder some people regard the Liao Dynasty Mural Tombs in XiaBali of Xuanhua as "underground art palace" and "Liao Dynasty life painting".
