Niubei mountain

Niubei mountain is named as "China's largest viewing platform" because of the huge stone protruding from the cliff on the top of the mountain, which looks like a cow's head, and the slender ridge, which looks like a cow's back.

The sea of clouds in Niubei mountain is thick and uniform, broad and gentle. The waterfall clouds everywhere are like "Hallelujah Mountain" in Avatar, which makes people feel like stepping in the air.

Standing on the top of the mountain, you can not only enjoy the panorama of the king of Shu mountain, but also have a panoramic view of Emei Mountain, Siguniang mountain, Erlang mountain and other famous mountains in the land of abundance. If you are lucky, you can also see Rizhao Jinshan.

The accommodation on Niubei mountain is quite convenient. There are many large tents built by Tibetans, and the conditions on the mountain are relatively poor.

Before you go to Niubei mountain, you must consult the inn in advance whether you can drive up the mountain. If you encounter snow on the top of the mountain and ice on the road, the car will stop at "Yunhai family" and you need to walk up the mountain for 2-3 hours.

Detailed introduction of niubeishan

Niubei mountain is located in Yingjing County, Ya'an City, Sichuan Province, at the junction of Luding County. It is a branch of Erlang mountain, formerly known as Dachang and yeniushan. It is the watershed of Qingyi River and Dadu River, with an altitude of 3660 meters. Surrounded by mountains on all sides and protruding in the middle, it has won the reputation of "China's largest viewing platform" and excellent photography holy land.

The niangniangding of niejiaogou on the side of Niubei mountain overlooks the Dadu River Valley with excellent view. At the end of 2009, a famous photographer of National Geographic magazine accidentally found a nameless hillside in Luding County where many snow mountains can be seen. Since then, he has become famous in the name of Niubei mountain, and photographers from all over the world have flocked to him.

Since July 2015, Niubei mountain has been closed for development. During the closure period, the relevant departments explicitly prohibited outsiders and vehicles from entering most areas of Niubei mountain. However, the main side of Niubei mountain, Nie Jiao Gou, is not within the scope of closure, and tourists are still allowed to go.

Geology and geomorphology

Niubei mountain is located in piaoergou, Sanhe Township, Yingjing County, which is the highest mountain in Yingjing County - yeniu mountain with an altitude of 3666 meters. Yeniushan belongs to the South extension range of Erlang mountain and belongs to Daduhe anticline in geological structure, including yeniushan (3666 m above sea level), dayeniushan (3409 m above sea level), guangtoushan (3478 m above sea level), machangliang (3499 m above sea level), Niangniang mountain, Dachang mountain and other major peaks. Generally speaking, the mountain ranges are in the north-south direction, which is the birthplace of Xinghe river. The exposed rocks are mainly Proterozoic K-feldspar granite and rhyolite. There are hydrothermal hematite and magnetite occurrences of Dengying Formation in Daguang area.

Niubei mountain belongs to the water system of Qingyi River. Dadu River flows at the foot of Niangniang mountain. The watershed between Dadu River and Qingyi River is Dachang or Shanwang mountain. Due to the undercutting of the river, it is divided into two mountains: dayeniushan guangtoushan machangliang and yeniushan Dachang.

Discovery history:

In 2009, National Geographic magazine published a special topic about Luding County, mentioning that there are many mountain resources in Luding County (it was later confirmed that Niubei mountain belongs to Yingjing County of Ya'an), and there are many snow mountains and clouds in one hill. In March 2010, according to the description of geological team friends who have worked in Luding for many years, Chongqing Lvyou "gray" released a line calling post on the local famous tourism website "Lvyou space", and carried out the exploration activities on Niubei mountain for the first time on the Internet. With the help of many local mine owners, we finally determined the best viewing site, and released a detailed strategy of niubeishan on the Internet, and created an entry of niubeishan on Baidu. Later, Sichuan and Chongqing donkey friends visited many times and gradually promoted this "largest viewing platform" to the whole country, becoming another model of top brand new tourism resources discovered through folk exploration after Jiuzhaigou.

B & B culture:

With the arrival of tourists, local infrastructure once became a bottleneck. Rural areas gradually began to focus on the transformation of accommodation and leisure as a whole. In 2014, Dayan led a group of volunteers to build the youth post station in pumaidi village, Niubei mountain, in combination with the program "dream of a remodeler" of Oriental satellite TV. It was designed by the famous architectural designer Mr. Li Daode, after the reconstruction of the old house. Pumaidi youth post station has been selected as one of the top ten most beautiful B & B in China, and included in the album "the most beautiful B & B". Gradually, people who are keen on B & B culture come here. Pumaidi youth post station has become another business card of Niubei mountain.

Route

Route 1: Chengdu - Shimian (Expressway) - lengqi town (national highway) - pumaidi village - niubeishan (mountain road)

From Chengdu to Shimian, you can take the local villagers' car to pumaidi village in lengqi town. Pumaidi, which means the place full of highland barley, is located on the hillside of Niubei mountain in Xinglong Town, Luding County, Ganzi Prefecture, Sichuan Province. It is the nearest and last village from Niubei mountain top, and also the only way to Niubei mountain viewing platform. The youth post station of pumaidi, which is a special program of "dream reformer" of Oriental satellite TV, is located here. It's a good choice to have a night's rest in this quiet small mountain village, and then go on foot or by car on Niubei mountain the next day.

Route 2: Chengdu Shimian Expressway Xinglong niejiaogou mountain road

From Chengdu to Shimian, it is transported to niejiaogou after reaching lengqi town. Near the main peak of Niubei mountain, niejiaogou is a typical hiking route and viewing platform in Niubei mountain area. There is a 7km walking route on the way, and Gongga snow mountain can be seen in the whole route. Geographically, this is the closest viewing platform to Gongga in Niubei mountain area, and you can also see the Dadu River Valley and Dadu River cloud sea. From the perspective of viewing, it is a rare good location in Niubei mountain area. In November 2016, the government of Xinglong town of Luding County held the snow mountain red leaf Photography Festival in niejiaogou, which received excellent response.

Route 3: Chengdu - Yingjing (Expressway) - Siping (national highway) - Sanhe Township - niubeishan (mountain road)

It is a mature route from Chengdu to Yingjing and Yingjing to Niubei mountain. It has the tourism value of preliminary development, and the scenery along the way has its own characteristics.

The road from Sanhe township to jiubasuo was repaired and maintained spontaneously by local villagers in August 2014, and the road condition is excellent. It is suggested that tourists from Chengdu to Niubei mountain can take Chengdu Shangcheng Ya'an Expressway Yingjing Xiazhan Sifei Sanhe Niubei mountain, which can save at least half a day than taking lengqi town in Luding County.

Botany

Hemlock, fir, oak, Castanopsis fargesii and shrub are densely distributed, but the damage is serious. There are wild gastrodia, Coptis, phellodendron, rhubarb and other medicinal materials.

animal

Niubei mountain is known as yeniushan because of the presence of antelopes. Other wild protected animals include giant panda, red panda, Sumen antelope, horned chicken and Caragana.
