Shenzhen Universiade center is located in Longxiang Avenue, Longgang District, Shenzhen, about 15 kilometers away from the city center. It is the main venue for Shenzhen to hold the 26th Summer Universiade in 2011. It is also the future center for Shenzhen to implement the strategy of building a city through culture, develop sports industry and promote national fitness.
The overall height of the stadium is 53 meters, with five floors above the ground and one floor underground. On the ground floor, there are referees, athletes, media room, equipment room and parking lot, of which the media room has 600 press seats and 12 commentator boxes; on the second to fifth floors, there are audience halls, of which the third floor is special VIP area and rostrum, the fourth floor is VIP box and related equipment control room, and on the ground floor, there is parking lot.
In the saddle shaped stadium, there are three kinds of stands: high, medium and low. In the low area, there are 120 wheelchair seats for the disabled and 120 seats for the accompanying staff, reflecting the people-oriented design concept. Due to the use of the ring seat layout, each part can achieve the best viewing effect. In order to ensure the safety of people during the event, the stadium is equipped with four evacuation exits with an effective width of 32 meters. During large-scale events, the evacuation can be completed in 5 minutes; through the two-story platform and 57 entrances and exits, the stands can be evacuated to the safety zone in 8 minutes.
