Shenzhen Universiade Center
Shenzhen Universiade center is located in the northeast of Shenzhen and the west of Longgang central city. It is the main venue of the 26th Summer Universiade. The Universiade center consists of a main stadium, a main gymnasium, a swimming pool, a Universiade lake, a national fitness square, a comprehensive sports service area and other sports facilities. It covers a total area of 520500 square meters and a total construction area of 290000 square meters.
As the main arena of the Universiade, the Universiade center undertakes the tasks of track and field, swimming and basketball in three major events and 92 minor events, producing a total of 92 gold medals, accounting for one third of the total number of gold medals in the Universiade, including 50 in track and field, 2 in basketball and 40 in swimming. During the Universiade, more than 4000 athletes (including team officials and technical officials at home and abroad) from more than 130 countries and regions held 166 games here, and more than 560000 people attended or watched the games. President CT of the International University Sports Federation highly praised our service as "unparalleled and impeccable"; Mayor Xu Qin of Shenzhen highly praised our four first-class work, namely "first-class venues, first-class competitions, first-class audiences and first-class services".
The design of the Universiade center embodies the fashionable and avant-garde architectural concept. The "one stadium and two pavilions" are distributed in a triangle, connected by the water surface of the Universiade Lake in the middle. The three stadiums are similar to three crystal boulders, cooperating with the surrounding mountains and green space, forming a unique "landscape stone" structure.
On January 31, 2013, jiazhaoye sports and Tourism Group officially became the general operator of "one game, two halls" of Universiade center, with the operation right of 30 years. As of August 10, 2015, jiazhaoye sports and Tourism Group has obtained the right to operate the following venues: Shenzhen Universiade center, Shenzhen Nanshan sports and Sports Center, Shenzhen Yantian Sports Center, Foshan Gaoming sports center and Shenzhen Guanlan sports park.
